Two very entertaining sports are now clashing to see which is more dominant. Soccer being the most watched sport in the world, and basketball being a very big sport in the united states. In a recent article, Kobe Bryant discusses how soccer is his favorite sport. For those who aren't familiar with Kobe, he is one of the greatest basketball players alive. Coming from this man, we should all be convinced soccer truly is the best sport out there, however, there are still those who say otherwise.
Soccer, nicknamed “the beautiful game” is admired all over the world. Soccer is a very simple game of having to kick a ball in the opponent's goal. This is very similar to basketball, however instead of kicking the ball you shoot the ball into the basket. A very notable case would be from the world's greatest player, Lionel Messi. There was a kid in Afghanistan who was a huge Messi fan. I mean who wouldn't be, he is five time winner of the Ballon D’or (greatest player in the world). This kid made a replica of a Messi jersey since he was too poor to afford a real one. Messi jerseys can cost anywhere from $100 to $150, so it's understandable why he would do so. He made this jersey out of a trash bag that had white and blue stripes (the same color and pattern as Argentians jersey, Messi's international team). He wrote in his best handwriting, “Messi” across the back of the jersey and the number “10” right below. The photo of this kid proudly wearing Messi's jersey swept the world. Messi got word of this and sent him an autographed jersey as well as a promise to fly this kid out to Barcelona to meet

It is one of the most popular sports in the world that many people play now. It does take some time to learn the sport but, it shouldn’t be hard to learn it if you have the time and, put in a lot of effort.

There were several factors that played into why I chose to attend Truett-McConnell. I have played soccer since I was five years old and ever since I started I had a dream to play college soccer. My dream was to play soccer at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. My aunts, uncles, both grandparents, mom, dad, and now older brother have all attended Samford. Going there would have been fantastic but God had other plans for me.

The impact that soccer has had on the United States has drastically changed the American society and it will continue to mold the culture for years to come. Soccer, in one or more ways, has had some part in the lives every American citizen, whether it be the money spent by the government on stadiums and professional teams, or the time spent watching and playing the game. Although the sport did not have a strong early presence in American lives it has substantially grown in recent years, thus effectively popularizing soccer in every corner of the globe. The sport plays an important role in modern American society and has a bright future ahead of it.

Our book defines a group as a collection of people who are perceived to bond together in a coherent unit to some degree (Baron 241). Making a decision isn’t always easy depending on how many people are in the group and if there is any conflict within the group. The basic aspects of a group include roles, status, norms and cohesiveness but when viewing my soccer team I see only certain obvious aspects being present. When thinking about the process in which we, as a group have to make the decision of where to stop for food after an away game, it is obvious that many theories and/or topics can be applied. These theories or topics include evaluation apprehension, social decision schemas, authentic dissent and conflict. The four subjects listed above help explain how a group can come to a decision together.
