Should people be taking time away to take naps daily? Sleep debt is the cumulative effect of not getting enough sleep. Sleep debt also has many devastating effects including impaired vision, obesity, and many others. However, there is a solution. Napping can help to make up for the sleep debt. Many historical figures such as Bill Clinton, Thomas Edison and Leonardo da Vinci took naps. In fact, adults are recommended to have at least 7-8 hours of sleep every day. Naps are generally good for people because they improve memory and primes the brain.
One reason why naps are generally good for people is better memory. Source 2 states,”the researchers found that napping improved memory.” This shows that naps are beneficial.
