Many people would say that skateboarding is a crime or skateboarding is annoying. This leads to one question; is skateboarding a nuisance? While many people would say it is a nuisance, skateboarding is actually positive in many ways. Despite many people saying that skateboarding is destructive or bad, skateboarding is a unique sub-culture that promotes positivity in society. Skating in public spots can be loud and annoying to some people, but is it actually bad? Skateboarding is loud, but the city is a loud place. The screeching of wheels just adds to the noise. Basketball is loud, too. Apart from the noise, people say that skaters damage ledges because of grinds, but damage from grinds and slides is incremental and apart from a skater getting mad and breaking something, arrests for skateboarding is rare. Some security guards take it too far though. There are many videos of skateboarders being harassed by security guards. Many people would argue that skateboarding is a destructive and vandalistic way of life, though many people don’t realize that it is one of the only lifestyles that does not discriminate against race, age, political views, the amount of money somebody makes, or the clothes somebody wears. Skateboarding is also positive, because ultimately it makes you more creative. Some places have metal clamps attached to ledges or rails, also known as “skate-stoppers” to stop skateboarders from grinding or sliding on the area. Though it is intended to stop skaters, it just makes them approach the ledge or rail in a different way so that they can use the skate-stoppers for
