There are two main basic understandings of good and bad theses terms. They originate from sin and morality. Sin is the act of violating God's will. Sin can also be viewed as anything that violates the ideal relationship between an individual and God. There are various divisions of sin the two most common are mortal and venial sin. A mortal sin is an action that is destructive that it mortally wounds our relationship with God; a complete rejection of God. A sin is mortal when it meets three criteria it involves "grave matter", it must be done with full knowledge, and the one performing the action must do do deliberately. A venial sin is an action that weakens our relationship with God. However, a venial sin is much less serious than a mortal

Examples of omission sin would be failing to pay regularly, failing to help another person or failing to provide for your family. Sin of commission s purposely doing an action that is harmful to oneself or another. Examples of a commission sin would be adultery, theft, or murder. Sin is a transgression against God that is overcome with Christ's death in the cross on Good Friday and His Resurrection on Easter. Sin is not the final chapter in the Christian story. Salvation eternal life, everlasting joy with out any kind of pain or sorrow, would be the final chapter. We must try not to let the fear of sin and its many manifestations prevent us from doing good, from taking a chance on love, or from even working with other "sinners" in doing our part in furthering God's Kingdom on earth.
