Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, a movie full of sweet treats and funny experiences. The movie is about a boy named Charlie and four other children that win a golden ticket by buying chocolate bars hoping there would be one inside. With the golden ticket they have the ability to tour the Chocolate Factory with Willy Wonka himself, the owner of the factory. There is only four tickets in the whole entire world and each child that wins one is able to take on gardian with them. Unfortunately, in this movie you can easily spot a hidden meaning. Each of the main characters stand for each of the 7 deadly sins. The first of the 7 deadly sins is warth. Willy Wonka represents wrath because he punishes everyone for their flaws. In the movie, each child is given an obstacle due to what temps them. If the are tempted and fall for the obstacle then they are punished by Willy Wonka. Veruca is a brat that gets what she wants when she wants it. In the movie she bosses her dad around and he buys her anything that she wants. That is also a big part in how she won the golden ticket, her dad bought lots and lots of chocolate bars and paid people to open all of them. The last of the deadly sins is pride, represented by Violet Beauregarde. In the movie the audience can tell the she thinks very highly of herself. She explains to the interviewers that she has broken many records. She also explains why she has been chewing gum for the past several months. She says it is the longest anyone has ever chewed gum and wanting to beat another record. In conclusion, the movie “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory” the characters represent the 7 deadly sins very well. Nobody truly knows if the author, Roald Dahl, wanted the audience to think of the movie in that way.
