According to the PDF File The First and Second Wave of Feminism in the U.S by Amy Kesselman she states that the “first wave of feminism emerged in the 1840s till the 1850s.” The first wave began with the anti-slavery movement which sparked a moment for many women to think about human rights for women. Many women from there started to get together in trying to change the way things were going and gain access to more education and to eliminate barriers to participate in public life. The first wave created an amazing starting point for the change of the future in women’s rights. Without the first and second wave of feminism our society still would probably be different today. Gaining the right to vote for all women is very crucial because we all deserve to have the voice in politics even being the minority. Having fair and proper opportunities for women in the workplace for women shows unity. Not to mention that women have every right to do as they please with their body’s and how they wish to change that apart from their life. In society now women get together and form an organization in fighting for equality because everyone should be treated the same no matter what. In some parts of the world, women do not have all the same opportunities as the women in the United States contains. However, the fight for equal right is still going strong in order to obtain everyone being seen on one platform where no one is superior to anyone else.
