Many writers choose to reveal pieces of their life through the characters of their novels. The Great Gatsby whispers glimpses of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s personal experiences, through the characters Nick Carraway and Jay Gatsby. In The Great Gatsby, the narrator, Nick Carraway, aligns the nonfictional biography of F. Scott Fitzgerald in numerous ways. Nick and Fitzgerald were both Minnesota-bred, Ivy-league educated and both peregrinated East after World War 1 for the lucky chance in the bond business and writing.
