A good way to keep dangerous people from committing mass murder in schools is to give all teachers and staff the right to carry firearms. Many shooters might choose not to attack a school if teachers were allowed to carry firearms. If schools had a big sign before walking into the building saying “our teachers take pride in protecting our students with the force of firearms” there than might not be as many fatal school shootings. Any teacher with the proper training should be able to carry a weapon on school grounds in order to protect the students. By teachers be able to carry a firearm saves so many lives. Yeah, someone is going to call the cops and they are going to be informed, but how long is it going to take them to get to the school? In the United States getting a CHL (concealed handgun license) is not easy. The applicant must go through a very strict criminal back ground check, must pass shooting test’s, and must be put in very tough mental positions that test your physiological strength. Imagine how many would have been killed on this horrible day if there would have been teachers that were armed and ready to fight back any threat that walked through the doors. Many would probably believe none would have died if there would have been at least two armed teachers. Many schools simply rely on the “lock down drill” which means there is a shooter in the school and it’s time to duck and cover. Then, students are instructed to take cover under desks while the teacher is to lock the classroom and turn off the lights. In a real situation it would make sense that the teacher should be pulling a gun out of a combination safe while the students organize the desks to form a bunker.
