I agree with the school board that they should add one and a half hours to each school day. There are many benefits to adding more time to the school day. It gives students more time to learn and teachers more time to teach. Students can get better grades and can take their time on classwork. Students also get a chance to bond with others more. By doing that it can help them enjoy school more, Also it helps students out because they won't have a lot of homework to do at home. They can have time to spend with family and friends. More time in school is great because that means more time to finish work, hang out with other students, and can have some family time after school. I think adding more time will help students out more. If the school board adds more time to each school day then we’ll have more time to learn. Students won’t have to rush to get work done. They can take their time and get the good grade they deserve. It is important for kids and teens to have a social life. By adding more time to each school day it gives students a more time to bond with others. Friends can help each other out if one doesn’t understand something. They can also help each other study and do projects together. School days should be shorter fro students because they do not get enough sleep, have to much homework, and have barley have time to participate in extra curricular activities. A majority of students have sleep depravation due to school. If school would either start or end late students will have a greater opportunity to get more sleep. Teachers expect students to pay attention for 90 minutes while the night before they were up late finishing their homework for there classes. Some teachers do not realize that students have a life and work or have other obligations that take up a major portion of the students.
Students may need to nap to compensate for energy expended throughout the day. However, if schools were to start later, adolescents would not have to nap, allowing for a larger window of time to spend with their families after school, even with a later start time. Another opposing argument is that students would have less time to participate in extracurricular activities. However, this issue can be resolved by making practices for sports and club meetings shorter and more frequent to accommodate the schedule variation. Overall, the benefits of later start times far outweigh the drawbacks.

Students k-12th grade spend 8 hours every weekday sitting in a classroom doing hard work. A lot of hard work can lead to a lot of stress and a lot of frustration. If we give kids some time to just let off steam and de-stress, it will help them relax and focus more. This means more attendance and high grades coming from the students. Besides holidays, the school year is tough for hanging out, even on the weekends. The average high school student’s Saturday consists of some type of sporting event, weekend homework, and very little if any hang out time. Then comes Sundays where we all watch an nba game or something and procrastinate worrying about homework, that never gets done on time. There might be some free time involved on certain weekends, but it is rare for there to be enough time to really relax and enjoy a day. A free day could consist of a student’s own time to themselves or with friends and quality family time.

However, many students do not comprehend certain areas to well, having extra time and getting it explained better, can help the student understand the topic better. Variety of students can really use the teacher's help in an area they are struggling with. Consequently, when students try to understand some of the work teachers give , can be extremely tough on the students. For instance, some students do not take in knowledge to well like other student, so having afterschool time with the teacher can let the students have extra practice on topics they struggle with. Another idea is we also could have a longer lunch break,where we have the option to eat outside or with our friends without getting in trouble. Instead of going outside or taking time out of our schedule, we can come up with a plan tat works without changing the schedule drastically. I'm in middle school were almost to to high school,but I still think we should have should have some type of social time. We really don't get to see our friends
It would be impossible for a teacher to be able to keep up with work if one student turns it in, then three weeks later, five other students turn the same assignment in. It will also become more difficult for teachers to manage which students need more assistance due to the varying times assignments are being received. The management issues caused by students having unlimited time to turn in incomplete assignments would not be worth it in the long run. In life, there are always going to be deadlines.
For one thing, it would be harder for them to balance studying, homework, extracurricular activities, jobs, social lives, and sleep in such little time everyday. In fact, you would find more and more students dropping out of after school clubs or sports in order to get things done more efficiently. Otherwise, you would find a vast number of students’ grades to lower drastically due to lack of time to study for tests and quizzes. Similarly, there would also be less homework being done from students who were unable to find the time to complete it. To further develop, throughout the extended school day, the adolescents mind would begin to lose focus because of the large amount of time being spent in that school or from tiredness due to lack of sleep.
