Should allowing smoking in cars with children be illegal in all fifty states. I agree with this statement because it is so dangerous. Smoking in cars can cause second hand smoke which can be extremely hazardous to children and other people. “Exposing passengers, both children and adults, to secondhand smoke in the confined space of a car is extremely hazardous. Everyone should be encouraged not to smoke in vehicles.” I think that when people smoke in cars with children they are putting the children in danger because they are still growing and it can severely affect them. This should taken care of to prevent secondhand smoke. “Millions of children are exposed to secondhand smoke at home, which is a major hazard to their health, and reducing the level of exposure should be a priority.” I believe that this cause needs to be illegal because smoking in the confined spaces of a car increases the level of exposure and can seriously hurt the child. …show more content…

Some states are eight and under, thirteen, fourteen, sixteen, or eighteen and under. I think that the age should be eighteen and under because the age to buy cigarettes is eighteen so you're still almost getting the same effects. “Even brief exposure to smoke can be lethal for children (American Lung Association).” I believe that if smoking in cars were to become illegal in all fifty states it can eliminate pollution and secondhand smoke. The smoke can build up and seep into the car's interior which will also add to the problem. I think that since children don’t have a choice but to go into the car with a smoker like an adult does because the smoker will probably not think about the consequences. They will most likely not stop smoking in the confined space of a car with their child or any other child because they are so addicted to
