Many people come to the United States of America in order to live freely and make choices based on their personal morals. Considering the fact that America is known for being the “land of the free”, people should be able to choose whether or not they want to get vaccinated. People should have the right to reject vaccinations for whatever reason it may be, whether it’s religious beliefs, health concerns, or lack of belief in the vaccination systems. Personally, Vaccinations have benefited me and my health, and I choose to get vaccinated. I choose to get vaccinated because I strongly believe in a way it helps build my immune system and keeps me from getting sick or catching diseases. However, people have different beliefs than mine. Therefore
Just like prescription drugs, vaccines can be a harmful risk. For example, the small pox vaccine that is recommended by government health officials carries a risk for complications like inflammation of the brain which can lead to damage of the brain or even death. People who believe we should have mandatory vaccinations will say that vaccines have saved many lives, and though its true vaccines have also caused many serious and sometimes fatal side effects. There are also many cases where many parents strongly believe that some vaccines may have caused autism in their children. The reason being that many parents noticed shortly after their child was vaccinated they noticed symptoms like loss of language abilities and they were suddenly stopped interacting with people. Also, the vaccines used to treat measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) are linked to many autism cases. Vaccines that contain thimerosal, which is an organic compound that contains mercury, has also been suspected to cause autism in children. Thimerosal has been removed from most vaccines because of its linkage to autism. Scientist believe that MMR vaccines trigger a regressive form of autism, because the measles virus in the vaccine embeds itself in the intestine, causing some kind of reaction in the brain. For example, the Catholic Church understands the importance of vaccines and the protection of individual health, but they believe members should find an alternative other than vaccines. Catholics generally rely on prayer for vaccines and believe that medical inventions such as vaccines are irrelevant. Catholic religion as well as Mormonism are both against abortion which means they are against vaccines that use human cells derived from aborted fetuses. Religions like Christianity believe that our body is like a temple that houses the holy spirt and we should not pollute it with vaccines. For example, a vaccine is a manmade invention used to alter our immune system to protect us from disease, and the immune system is a gift from God that protects our body from diseases. So when we trust in vaccines in which are made by humans we are saying that God didn’t make us right and so we need to correct him. By doing that we are questioning God and that is against Christianity. Another religion that has historically been against vaccines is Jehovah Witnesses, because they believe the human body is sacred and whatever kind of disease you have is a gift from God and you should not contaminate your body with other human/
