Should testing on animals be illegal? Animal testing is where live animal is compelled to go through tests and experiment which will likely cause them pain. Animals such as, mice, rats, frogs, dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, monkeys, fish, and birds are killed or harmed throughout laboratories, medical testing, chemicals and drugs. These animals are being testing on a range of body products (cosmetics, fragrances/ deodorant, oral care, etc), pet food, household appliances and cleaning. Some products of these are from, MAC, Rimmel London, Revlon, L’Oréal, Maybelline, Clean & Clear, Olay, Nivea and more. Not being able to choose where to sleep at night, when and what to eat, how to live your life. This is how these animals live, as a prisoner. They are used for experiment for products that humans use on a day to day bases. Each year over 100 million animals are testing on and almost all of these animals end up dead after the tests are completed. But there are alternatives for testing products that are efficient and reliable. Non animal testing doesn't take as long and uses a fraction of the money for experiments on animals. These tests will be effective and affordable. Humane research methods included volunteers, patients and computer testing. Between 1976 - 1985 a wide range of drugs such as, Phenacetin, Eferol, Oraflex, Suprol, Selacryn, etc were all tested on animals. These drugs were taken off the market because of serious side effects. If industries changed animal testing to non animal testing we would have higher protection. Testing on animals does not guarantee the product will be safe on humans. There is a physiological difference between humans and animals, the results from animal testing can’t always be accurate. This leaves humans vulnerable to the product that may causes terrible side effects as many products sicken or kill animals while
