Sexual Assault on Campus
There is a serious danger today on college campuses. Parents and Guardians drop their children off at these campuses not knowing the severity of the problem. Their children are in serious danger and the problem is put off by them because of inadequate polls. This problem I’m talking about is Sexual assault on campus. Many people think that because a college has low sexual assault and rape incidents reported that it makes it a safer school. This is the opposite of the problem. Only 12% of rapes and sexual assaults are reported the law enforcement when 1 in every 4 college women are sexually assaulted. This study was done to more than 3,000 women and 2,000 men on 32 college campuses. That leaves an excessive amount of assaults gone unreported. 19% of U.S undergraduate women are victims of sexual assaulted leaving them as the main target. 80% of all these sexual assaults are done by people the victims are already previously acquainted with. They think getting girls drunk and using them afterwards is congenital. No drunken sex is consensual sex. This was showed in a video titled “Frank video” which consisted of re-enactments of conversations between a researcher and college students. One male college student was interviewed saying “We’d be on the lookout for the good-looking girls, especially the freshmen. They were easy prey and they didn’t know anything about drinking or how much alcohol they could handle , so you know they wouldn’t know anything about our techniques. We’d invite them to the party… We’d get them drinking right away. We’d have kegs of beer, but we always had some kind of punch also, you know our own home brew. We’d make it with a real sweet juice and just pour in all kinds of alcohol.” He went on to describe how he would remove the women’s clothes with them resisting him while he pins the women down.
