Many Christians have gone astray from the path of god causing many problems within the religion and especially the races surrounding it. “Our job is to struggle along with everybody else and collaborate with them in the difficult, frustrating task of seeking a solution to common problems, which are entirely new and strange to us all.” (Merton, 2013, p. 214). This quote talks about how it is our job to struggle and collaborate in order to find solutions to new and strange problems. This relates very much in my major Accounting because there are going to be many financial problems that are going to occur to a company and they are going to look to me to solve them. These problems might be new and completely strange however, I have to find a way to correctly solve them. This connects to the mission of Seton Hill because I will be thinking critically in order to completely solve new problems that might arise during my accounting career. The quote states, when threatened people in charge are the first to go against the law or set it aside for their personal interests. In Accounting, there is a lot of fraud involved because many Accountants want to gain more personal interest. However, in Accounting you have to avoid fraud at all cost even if it is a great personal interest to you. This relates to the the Seton Hill mission because it is centered around Judeo-Christian values, which help students to think ethically. As an Accountant I will always have to use these values and think ethically in order to avoid all temptations of performing
