Couples in senior high share a lot of youth memories with each other. They share memories such as a first date, going to homecoming, prom, getting their first car, ect. They also were possibly friends so they have met and talked as acquaintances. If the person has gone to public school and the same public school all, through all the years, they would have known their boyfriend/ girlfriend for twelve years. That is enough time to get to get to know if you want to be with someone or not. The teen years is an emotional time for teenagers. One of the many responsibilities as one grows is for a teen and parent to understand one another. Relationships are hard for many teens, but being in a relationship is even harder when their parents do not support them. In the play , Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare shows what could possibly happen if parents do not accept the relationships of their children.
Firstly, being married did not make it true love. Also, these teens prove that young people do not have to wait to marry and that young people can make life decisions such as marriage. But according to James C. Dobson, Ph.D, “those who wed between 14 and 17 years of age are twice as likely to divorce as couples who wait until their 20’s,” (Kecskes, para.1). So even if these teens had stayed alive then the odds of them getting divorced or even killing themselves was definitely higher than others. This also could mean that the reason these teens got married was because of lust and not true love. Have you ever met that special someone in high school and fell in love with that person? In Romeo and Juliet, when Romeo and Juliet meet, you can tell by Romeo’s interaction with Juliet that he really loves Juliet. When Romeo meets Juliet, he kisses her hand and tries to impress her. Romeo then decides to visit Juliet at her house while knowing that it might cost him his life should her parents discover him there. They even decide to get married in secret a few days after they met. This shows that it is possible for teenagers to be in love.
In Romeo and Juliet, their love is not real because of how fast it started and it was based on their beauty. Although it may seem like Romeo and Juliet fell in love at first sight, they actually just found each other attractive and immediately thought they were meant to be. Adolescent love is not real love because adolescents are too young too truly understand true love, and like Romeo and Juliet, adolescents are gullible and find themselves falling in love with anything that is beautiful.

What we are going to be looking at is the patterns of dating among heterosexual college students (or non-students) ages eighteen to twenty-four, and how these trends differ from previous dating trends. The research questions as are based on geographical location, ethnicity and race, age, sex, and touches on religion. The geographical location is listed because we are in southern California. This region of the Untied States is full of the most races, including African-American, Asian, Hispanic, South American, Caucasian and many more. Teens don’t understand what love really is all they think is that being in a relationship will last.
