What if one of your friends got hurt or even killed because they were not wearing a seatbelt whenever they get into a car accident? I know you would be devastated. Whenever you get into a car you need to put your seatbelt on immediately. First, if you do not wear a seatbelt, you could be ejected from your car. Secondly, wearing a seatbelt is a law. Lastly, wearing a seatbelt can save you from getting hurt or even dying. You should always wear a seatbelt even if you do not want to. One day a seatbelt may save your life.
First, if you do not wear a seatbelt, you could be ejected from you car. Before you ever get into your car, you need to think about what could happen if you do not wear a seatbelt. “People not wearing a seatbelt are thirty time more likely to be ejected from their vehicle and seventy five percent of people who are ejected from their vehicle die from their injuries,” (Lawyers, 2017). Many people get pulled over by the police because they are not wearing a seatbelt. “In 2013, 7.6 percent of teens reported never or rarely wearing a seatbelt when driving with someone else within the last thirty days compared to 25.95 percent in 1991,” (teens in the driver seat, 2017). Every year, more and more teens quit wearing their seatbelt, and they end up getting a ticket for it. “You can be ticketed for not wearing a safety belt- even if you are sitting in the back seat. If you are in a state that does not require you to wear a seatbelt, you do not have to wear one,” (teens in the driver seat). That means if the state does not require for you to wear a seatbelt, the police can not give you a ticket for not wearing one.
