Both the text Dougy and the movie School Ties has at least one stereotypical comment that a character has said in the text or movie which hurts a main or a sub-character. The stereotypical comments are similar in Dougy and School Ties because the comments are about how Jews or Aboriginal people are such as Aboriginals are fast because in the past they hunted for food. In the movie School Ties the stereotypical comments made David Green so angry that he challenged the person who made fun of him. The stereotype inferior race came from the fact that the WASPs said that the Irish were black on the inside. They considered them as “simian, low browed and brutish” comparing them to Africans and apes, and also said that they were apelike, lazy, immoral, and uneducated. Poor Kids is a documentary that highlights a major issue the United States is suffering from. This issue is known as poverty, more specifically, childhood poverty. This documentary views the world through the eyes of children that are subjected to lives of poverty due to the poor financial state that their parents are in. Life is very rough for these children and they must live their everyday lives with little to none of the luxuries most people take for granted. Poor Kids sheds light on the painful fact that there are children that starve every day in the United States.

For example, a teenager in today’s socialistic normalities are thought to be selfish and so absorbed in their phones they miss out on everything around them. However, not everyone is like that. Fed Up is a film directed by Stephanie Soechtig, with Executive Producers Katie Couric and Laurie David. The filmmaker’s intent is mainly to inform people of the dangers of too much sugar, but it also talks about the fat’s in our diets and the food corporation shadiness. The filmmaker wants to educate the country on the effects of a poor diet and to open eyes to the obesity catastrophe in the United States. The main debate used is that sugar is the direct matter of obesity. Overall, I don’t believe the filmmaker’s debate was successful.

Making the transition from middle school to high school is a huge stepping stone in a teenager’s life. High school represents both the ending of a childhood and the beginning of adulthood. It’s a rite of passage and often many teens have the wrong impression when beginning this passage. Most began high school with learning the last thing on their mind. They come in looking for a story like adventure and have a false sense of reality created through fabricated movie plots acted out by fictional characters. In all actuality high school is nothing like you see in movies, television shows, or what you read about in magazines.
The deep learning goals that I would establish as my crucial 4Cs would be communication, critical thinking, and problem solving, collaboration, and creativity and imagination. I find these 4Cs very beneficial because they are skills that all students will need to demonstrate in the real world. I believe it is a great idea to implement these 4Cs in high school because they are part of the 21st century learning skills. Every work environment will have these 4Cs implemented so if students master these skills in high school, their chances to get a job and do it well is very likely.
District 9 is a film that takes us into a realm of a different world from the one that we know now. It combines extraterrestrial life with immense science fiction to illustrate a story we could only imagine to ever actually occur. Although it was created for entertainment purposes, the motion picture can be compared to many different types of individuals and situations. District 9 displays many underlying concepts throughout the movie about racism, prejudice and discrimination. While studying and analyzing the plot and characters, these concepts became more translucent to me, the viewer. This paper will discuss the treatment of District 9 residents and equate their treatment to people with disabilities.
