Sandblasting is a braod term that is utilzied to define the act of propelling very tiny peieces of mateiral at a high-velocity, to etch or clean a surface. While it may be true that some service providers use relaitvely unfirom particles such as powdered abrasives, copper slag and bits of cocunet shell, most companies utilzie sand. A typical sandblast setup usually consist of three dstintive eparts: blaster zoole, air compressor and theabrasive itself. Sandblasting in itself is primarily utlzie two types of applications. The first is to eirther carve or etch words and desgins into a glass or simialr material.The send applications is to clean a surface that may have somethng clingin to it, such as rusted metal. By utilzing sandblasting as a technique for carving works of art into glasses, the end results can be very nueacned with various depts and angles of cuts, which in turn creates a wide arraty of lighting effects that can prove to be quite bueatiful. 4) Glass Etching With glass ethcin, tiny bits of abrasive materials are blasted at the glass liightly, to turn it into osmething that is semiopaque. This snowing or whiting of the glass can be then utilzied to great effect when ti comes to prodcuing images or words. By adjusting the angle at which the abrasive is launched and the speed of the sandblaster, it can lead to the creation of various types of shades which allow for some true modernb examples of art at its purest form. 5) Various Household Uses In general sandblasting provides a quick and effective way to rid surfaces of unwanted residue that has accumulated such as corrosion, rust and paint. As such, it can prove to be especially useful to homewonwers in general. SOme of the most common househll uses for sandblasting include: Prepping cars, boats motorcyrles for a fresh paint job.
