Sam Steinberg always followed ethical business approach and put emphasis on customer satisfaction. During Second World War, when all the business ventures increased the price of the goods produced using the opportunity of excess demand, Steinberg understood the situation of the buyers, their inability to purchase the goods at higher prices. In war times, there was lack of resources, jobs in the country. The economic situation was declining, which forced Steinberg to sell the products in low prices to all the customers. Hence, he easily gained the faith and dependency of the customers which made his company successful.

Sam Steinberg was always ready to adapt any new idea about the business management. His mother taught him some values, which make him more concerned about maintaining the business ethics than putting attention on the profit maximization. During that period, new kinds of grocery stores, named self service were started. Steinberg incorporated the idea in their businesses. The product should be also beneficial for its target market. He also believes in the business ethics. According to him, to make a business successful, one has to be honest to himself as well as his target market. Sam has accepted the fact that he does not have any knowledge regrading sugar business. In any part of business, if he is not comfortable, then he gives the responsibility to an eligible person without thinking whether he is a family member or an outsider. According to him, this unbiased mentality along with honesty, understanding the need of the customer and always ready to adapt any new innovative ideas, lead to success for any business
