The Russian Revolution included the fall of Tsar Nicholas II, the fall of the government led by Alexander Kerensky, and the rise of the Soviet Union. The various causes of the Russian Revolution range from the Tsar’s autocratic rule, WWI, and food shortages/economic issues. These events brought Vladimir Lenin, the rise of communism, and the Russian Civil War. Tsar Nicholas II was a major symbol of an autocratic government, a centralized government where an individual had all the power, and also failed to solve Russia’s economic and agricultural issues (Doc. 1).
