It was a beautiful Thanksgiving morning ,I had just woken up to my dad turning on my room lights ,shouting, “CJ,WAKE UP WE’RE GOING TO THE COWBOYS GAME!” I jumped out of my bed yelling,”OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK!” Once I finished getting ready, me and my dad got into his truck and drove to the Toyota Stadium. Me and my dad waited in line for what seemed like an eternity, but finally we got our tickets read and took our seats right next to the cowboys touchdown, so cool! Down, set, hut! Prescott gets it, throws to Bryant,TOUCHDOWN COWBOYS!! I was so excited I hit my hand on a chair in front of me as I was cheering, but I didn’t care. The Redskins got the ball at the 30 yard line on the kick return. Kaepernick catches the snap hands it off to Kelsey Young
On the plane ride home and in the airport I was still thinking about the game. The Carolina Panthers had blown out the Buccaneers by 30 points! Cam Newton scored 3 touchdowns himself! I was still excited about the whole game until I fell asleep in the
The death toll in Pontiac’s War was 2,650 people, both British and Native American. Pontiac’s Rebellion was a rebellion that happened in 1763 when the tribes Ottawa, Ojibwa, Shawnee, Miami, Huron, Seneca, and Potawatomi joined together under the leadership of Pontiac, the chief of the Ottawa tribe, and sprung attacks on the British around their area. They captured three major British forts including Fort Pitt and Fort Detroit. Pontiac’s War influenced the American Revolution. Nursing is a professional discipline and it provides a direct service to individuals. Nursing is a service which offers comfort, gratification and assistance at those times when individuals are under stress and in relation on their basic human needs. Although the friendliness and the discipline my interest orthopedic in nursing came so far.
Have you ever been in a situation where you intended to help out your friend when all of a sudden, their relationship problems became yours too? You might be a little too sympathetic. Hi, I’m William Bouchard, and I would like to thank you, the school counsellors, for attending this meeting on the stress level and workload of students. I wish to persuade you that too much sympathy is a bad thing. Specifically, I want to speak about the problems that come to an over-sympathetic individual who tend to take on other people’s problems. I will go over how easily people communicate feelings, how many people get stuck in these kinds of situations and how problematic they can become.
It was 3:00AM, I had just been woken up from another two hour catnap, by the screams and cries of my newborn son. He was hungry yet again, and I was beyond exhausted, physically and mentally.
There I lay in bed, tormented by the same question. The kind of question those who seem to have all the answers, simply cannot answer. The kind of question that runs through your head after a bizarre dream. The kind of question those who are closest to death ask themselves. But I wasn't close to death, nor was I waking up from a wild dream.I was simply a regular seventeen year old boy fearing the life that would come after graduation.Staring at the ceiling, I took a deep breath and exhaled as the question raced across my mind once again,”what’s next”,
I wake up from a long night's sleep, it's dark, it may still be night. My sheets are in a slightly ruffled, but still neat mess. I look at the clock to the left of my bed, it's 5:30 in the morning. I stretch my arms out while still laying back, and as I do... my right arm brushes against something. I just felt my cat, so I pet it and roll back over to my left side to get comfortable before going back to sleep since it was the weekend, and I had a few hours before anything needed to be done. Right as I get comfortable again something shifts in my bed on the right hand side, I could hear a slight yawn from behind me as well. It was a woman's voice that I heard next. She mumbles something softly and sensing the warmth, moves over towards my back and settles back into
The lions got the ball because they won the coin toss( that’s where an official flips a coin) and they decided that they want the ball which every other team in the NFL would do too in overtime, because if you score a touchdown you win the game. Blair Walsh kicked the ball to the lions they returned but didn’t get far they only returned it to the 13 yard line. The first good play the lions had was a 23 yard catch by Eric Ebron the detroit lions tight end,Then Golden Tate the Detroit Lions wide receiver had a 12 yard catch. On one of the plays Xavier Rhodes the Minnesota Vikings cornerback got called for pass interference, and all of these plays were on third down. Now the play that ended the game Golden Tate caught the ball right next to the sideline and shuke off Harrison Smith then ran into the endzone for a touchdown! The Vikings lose, DANG IT! The game was still really fun
I remember the day very clearly, it was in late autumn and it was cold. My mom had sent my brother Ross, our friend Pete, and me outside while she made lunch because we were being too rowdy. Ross had forgotten his jacket but was too stubborn to go back inside and get it, so he stayed near the propane heater that my father had set up in the garage while he was doing yard work. While I was running around enjoy the afternoon in the way that toddlers do, swings and playing in the dirt, Ross and his friend Pete stayed in the garage to stay warm seeing who could stay close to the heater the longest. Apparently Ross won, because before he knew it his New York Giants jersey that our Grandfather had bought for
I stood there just staring I could not move. Every time I moved o\n took a breath I felt him getting closer. Quickly, I had to do something but I did not know what. I feel like he has a gun or a weapon but I do not know for sure. I was 5’4 and 87lbs., and this guy had to be at least 6’9 and 250lbs.. There was no way that I would win in a fistfight so I just had to sit there and hope he would not see me hiding. I decided to run, I got shot in the leg.
There are many issues today that we don’t understand as well because of the lack of information we have about them. Poverty, discrimination, and how women are treated are the few issues we face today. Tupac’s “Keep Your Head Up” and Holliday’s “Strange Fruit” gives us a deeper look into these problems.
Cold. Cold like snow without gloves. Cold that makes your eyes feel as if they are being digested. Cold. My steps echoed upon the old crackling wood floor. The pace of the echoing sounds quickened. My hands pushed in the door which gave a tired moan. Doosh, Doosh, Doosh - i landed upon the frictionless concrete. The vastness of the world lay before me. Then, like the geese of the north the door fled into oblivion. With haste i hopped inside the van, the roar of a million horrors sound out into the streets. I was carried away…
It was 2nd down and we were on our side of the field and we were on defense. Our defense was really good, our defensive line was bigger than their offensive line. Our defense were destroying their offense. But they still managed to get a couple of scores on us, we were not the happiest campers. We lead by a couple of scores me and my buddy Dylon were fighting each other to see who can get the most sacks of the game. Well it was second down and on our side of the field, when I busted through their o line, I jumped over their running back that was trying to block me.
I remember it as clear as day. It had been a fairly normal week, and a routine average day. It was a Friday and I was driving home from school in my trusty Toyota Tercel. I was getting into the dreaded mental set of the game that I would be playing in that night. I had to play in the band at halftime and it was the first performance of the season. The whole ride to my house I thought about the game and hoped and prayed that we wouldn't make huge fools of ourselves. Before I knew it, I was already home. I remember thinking that it felt like the shortest drive ever, getting to beautiful Rolling Oaks. When I got home, little did I know, that there would be a huge surprise waiting for me that would change my life forever.
The traditional short story is a genre of a prose. It is a fiction work that presents a world in the moment of an unexpected change. The traditional short story obeys some rules, such as the unexpected change and major events with detail. The modern short story is a revolution which is based on the traditional short story. In other words, if the traditional short story is in the first floor, the modern short story is in the second floor. Therefore, the modern short story still obeys some rules that the traditional short story obeys, and breaks some rules that the traditional short story obeys. One rule that the modern short story still uses is the unexpected change. The rules broken by the modern short story are that the major events are not detailed, and that the border between the real world and the fiction world. This paper first talks about the unexcepted change and uses the examples of “Eveline” and “The Open Window.” Then, this paper talks about major events with detail, and uses the examples of “Lottery,” “The Open Window” and “Hills Like White Elephants.” Finally, this paper talks about the meta-literary and the border between the real world and the fiction
