Rosa Parks was born on February 4, 1913, she was 42 years old when she became the face anti-segregation. This amazing act started the Montgomery bus Boycott, millions of people were inspired by Rosa parks and they were all determined to demolish the black and white segregation laws. Segregation between white people and colored people began soon after the 15th amendment, the right for all American citizens to vote and the color of their skin or their race didn’t matter. White people hated anyone with colored skin even though slavery was over, they were still not good enough in their eyes. For many years this behavior went on and no one could stop it, there were many people before Rosa Parks that tried boycotting the bus rules but none were successful until 1955 when Rosa Parks was heading home from work one day exhausted. Then she married and she finally got her high school diploma, after this she began working at the Montgomery department store as a seamstress. One day she was on her way home and got on the Cleveland Avenue bus, she sat on the first row of the colored person’s section, she was so glad to finally sit down after a long day of standing on her feet at work. Before she knew it the bus driver

was forcing her to stand and give her seat to a white man, she was furious and refused to stand. The police came and arrested Mrs. Parks for refusing to give up her seat on the Cleveland bus, this single act started the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Colored people from everywhere began boycotting and started walking to work, slowly but surely they defended segregation. After Rosa Parks act of courage she received hundreds of death threats for many years and also lost her job but all of this was worth it to her if it meant a chance of equality between whites and
