A tragic hero is a character made with hero-like qualities but caused their own downfall due to their decision or fate. Tragic hero’s come with a tragic flaw which ultimately leads to their death or fall. This tragic fall for the character in the end created them to be a tragic hero. Three main theories of the tragic hero are the Aristotellian model, the Shakespearean model, and the modern tragic hero. Each model has five defining characteristics, which are nobility, hamartia, downfall, anagnosis, and suffering. In the Shakespearean mode of tragedy, the play Romeo and Juliet best models the tragic hero. For instance, nobility is characterized by upper class and having elevated character. According to an article about daddy issues, “at its core, ‘daddy issues’ is a label for something very clinical: attachment trauma. Attachment trauma occurs when a parent(of any gender) fails to meet the needs of their child consistently”(PR Newswire,1). Monroe’s attachment trauma was a big road block, causing her gradual downfall over the years with all the rumors tied to her. After all these problems showed up, Marilyn Monroe was able to collect herself to do a new production called “Something’s Got to Give” in the summer of 1962, but she never finished the movie because she was fired due to her absences and tardies when showing up on set. The article says, “filming began that spring and it was reported that Monroe could not handle the pressure”(Peterson,1). This shows that Monroe was struggling to handle the weight of the job, which led to her downfall because even if she thought she could do another film, she couldn’t. All in all, Marilyn Monroe was hitting her downfall, which was known to the people who started to notice. Finally, Marilyn Monroe suffered a gradual downfall when “being “Marilyn” had reportedly begun to exhaust
