Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare is a love tragedy in which two teenagers fall in love in the matter of five days and end their lives in the absence of one them. In the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare portrays love as dangerous feeling by showing the crazy actions people can make because of it, their selfishness for achieving happiness, and extreme actions that have serious consequences. Love can make people commit reckless decisions. While Romeo and Juliet have their second encounter in the balcony Juliet suggests to Romeo, “After knowing each other for merely a day, Juliet decides to ignore the troubles between the Montague's and the Capulets and chooses to marry a man she barely knew, and who she knew was a part of a family that her own family hated. After Juliet takes the potion that will fake her death her parents come in and are shocked and hurt by the loss of their child. Mr and Mrs. Capulet were devastated when they found Juliet dead on her bed their only child was no longer alive, they believed it and suffered so much from Juliet’s fake death; all of the suffering she caused her loved ones was just so she can be with Romeo she was selfish enough just think about her happiness. Even though Juliet’s death was fake her parents did not know that and they were devastated by it, all of the suffering she caused her loved ones was just so she can be with Romeo she was selfish enough just think about her happiness only and did not care about other people’s happiness and well-being hence why love can be so dangerous and make people so selfish.
