Rihanna’s first Album Music of the Sun released in 2005 gave us the bright-eyed teen in a sweetheart style. She hit us with songs like “Pon Da Replay” and “If it’s Loving That You Want” which were certainly catchy. This debut peaked at #10 on Billboard. But since then, Rihanna has not failed her fans; with her continuous release of good tunes and new approaches to her work. Each subsequent album has landed in the top 5 on Billboard. Rihanna is one of those amazing artists that seem to have a great deal of fans yet despite her continued success, there are people out there who don’t “believe in her artistry” or have doubted her abilities time and time again. Eleven years after her first release we see Rihanna maintaining her stance at the top of the charts. Her eighth album release of Anti peaked at #1 on the Billboard Charts this year and has already gone 2x platinum. We have seen a huge growth in Rihanna not only in age over these years but also as a vocalist, an artist and a performer. With a track record of working with some of the best producers and artists like The Dream, Timberland, will.i.am, Justin Timberlake, Young Jeezy and Drake, she never seems to pull the stops when it comes to her music. …show more content…

With a four year hiatus from releasing a new work, which is the longest lag of time we have seen from the artist, she hit us with a work that did not disappoint. When I first got my hands and ears on her album I immediately found it to be a new favorite of mine. Rihanna gives us a 16 track playlist with a range of musical styles. As always Rihanna pushes her limits and tries new sounds and on this album it’s pretty much a journey all her own. Her only artist collaboration is with Drake. Every other tune is her on her lonesome giving us Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, and Alternative
