In this critique essay I evaluated Dennis, who chose to do his informative speech on how to steal a car. First, his topic choice turned all our heads and we were all engaged completely. The beginning of his speech started out with a question and a real-life scenario. If there was anyone who didn’t know already what he was going to talk about they would have been drawn into his speech immediately. He paid a lot of attention to detail and his delivery method was enticing. He made me feel like I was in a crime movie. Before he even went into detail his introduction was very clear and I knew before he started his body paragraph what he was going to talk about. His eye contact wasn’t solely on one person, he made everyone in the room feel as if he was talking to them personally. He was in complete control of his nerves. There wasn’t any outside or personal noise in his speech. The way he spoke was very clear and natural. His pitch and speed rate was at an appropriate level and I could make out everything he said to the classroom. The speech didn’t feel scripted, he was comfortable and was credible with his information. His transitions went smoothly with his speech. To support his topic, he used statistics and even expert advice. He used examples, such as personal stories and friend’s stories. The detail in his explanations were put together very well and descriptive. His visual he added to his informative speech was even more of an attention grabber. His whole appearance was very professional for the topic. He used his own experience to state step by step instructions of what really happened in the video. The speech visual was interesting and by the looks of everyone else’s faces, it’s safe to say they were really intrigued as
