English speech analysis: Michelle Obama’s “let’s Move”, February 2010 As every other speeches Michelle Obamas speech have a political touch, which goald is to inform and inspire people with faith and hope. And in this case she manages to hit the audience in their soft family consciences spot and give them a “feeling of sorry and regrets” for their children and the hope for a brighter future if they and the society act now. She is using tons of strategies which kind of convince and ensure the audience, so they can remember the messages which are very important. For example, she repeats several times that “obesity in the United states of America are a huge problem, but we’ve seen changes at every level of our society”, which you can compare to a long dark tunnel, which is cold, uncomfortable and nursery to get trough, to reach the goal and the bright side in the end – healthiness/happiness. …show more content…

Even dough that you are not a part of the problem, Michelle Obama makes it so hard not to care and gives you an feeling of the “lets solve this problem together” spirited. She also claimed in the speech, that the American children ate way too much unhealthy food. E.g. to prove or disprove the argument are valid. In the start of the speech she mentions the claim about obesity of children in USA. That claim is supported by a lot of examples. For example, did Michelle mention some changes, which the parents wanted, and these changes are obliged and solved. As another example, did she say, ‘‘you asked for more information about the food you buy for your kids. And today, we are seeing better, clearer labels on beverage cans and many other product in our grocery stores.’’ This is a good example of the claim is
