In his version Cinderella’s name is Zezolla, her father, the Prince, remarries a woman who hates Zezolla. In the story, Zezolla has a governess who cared for her and instructed Zezolla to kill her stepmother and convince her father to remarry her. She then turns on her and then surprises Zezolla with six of her own daughters who tease and call her “Cat Cinderella” (hence the name Cinderella). Her father then leaves for a trip taking gift requests for each of his seven daughters, remembering to get all but Zezolla’s. When ready to leave, the Prince’s boat would not leave the harbor because the captain had dreamed that the Prince has broken his promise to Zezella.
As a child, we watch many Disney movies and read about different stories. However, many, if not all of us have, at some point, watched or read the story of Cinderella. It’s a story of a young girl who is thrown into adversity, but perseveres through these challenges with a positive outlook and the assistance of some “magical” entity, and lives “happily ever after.” There have been many deviations of Cinderella in order to diversify the story and make it applicable to all of today’s youth. Despite the differences in character names or story titles, the original theme of perseverance is maintained throughout the numerous tales. In spite of numerous adaptations of Cinderella the story still shows a character who loses a mother and is neglected
One of my fellow classmates Kayla Hillegass, said “I like to watch scary movies as a challenge to see what will scare me and what will not scare me”. Teens love and need this thrill and this sense of pride they get when watching a horror film and that is why they keep pilling in to the newest horror film to be released. The clichés that give teens a feeling of normality, plus the break from the real world and all of its troubles, plus the pride of overcoming the fear one feels in horror films, is the perfect equations for why horror films appeal to teens as opposed to adults. As long as teenagers need to feel like they have control of something, and can do anything as well as need a break from life horror films will appeal to them.
John Hughes was able to create realistic teen dialogue in his movies, but more importantly, he was able to capture real teen dilemmas. It's no wonder that his films could transcend individual generational experiences. John Hughes and Chicag... ... middle of paper ... ...nformity likely resonated with him very strongly. Most fans that read a biography of John Hughes will find that he was a self-described quiet kid, a quality that many of his protagonists share. At the same time, he also has many extroverted and outgoing characters.
Cinderella’s mother died when she was a young girl. Her father remarried Lady Tremaine, hoping to give his daughter a stepmother and family. One day, her father never returned from a trip, leaving Cinderella in the care of her stepmother. Her stepmother, Lady Tremaine was jealous of her charm and beauty, and gave her extra chores, such as bathing her cat Lucifer. Her stepsisters Anastasia and Drizella made her work all day, cooking, cleaning and sewing.
In this version, Cinderella’s biological mother dies and the father takes to a new wife who has two daughters. This new family dynamic forces her out of her old life, they make her their servant rather than a family member. Readers immediately learn of the motives behind the characters, and recognize the horrible things that they do. “They were beautiful, with fair faces, but evil and dark hearts. Times soon grew very bad for the poor stepchild.”(Grimm21).
Cinderella Once upon a time…there was a little girl called Cinderella, she was lovely young lady bought up by lovely parent and had a happy childhood. Cinderella lived in a huge house with loads of animals and servants to keep her company. She even had her best friend live next door. One day her mother fell very sick and passed away not long after telling Cinderella “Promise you’ll always be stay kind”, Cinderella of course promised and never let go of her promise. After many years her father decided it was time to get back out there and date again.
The audience can still expect all the main components of the movie such as the princess, the prince, and the glass shoe but there is still many differences. The animated Cinderella skips straight to her father's new marriage and introduces us to the evil step mother, while in the live action film there is a lengthy prologue that shows Ella’s happy life that includes her mother and father. Yet when her father remarries in the new Cinderella, Ella is portrayed as a young adult compared to children shown in the animated film. The thought behind the new ages was to show how independent Ella has become and how she is able to make own decisions. For example, when her evil step sisters start to call her Cinderella instead of just Ella, this proves to be the last straw.
One day Tita tells her mother that Pedro wants to come and ask for her hand, but according to the family tradition she cannot marry because she is the youngest daughter. Mama Elena tells Pedro he can marry Rosaura- one of her older daughters, and Pedro agrees to the arrangement just to be closer to his true love- Tita. Preparing food for the wedding Ti... ... middle of paper ... ...d coloring of certain images. The novel, however, puts much greater emphasis on the imagination and creativity, and on the main character Tita. The novel really makes the reader feel Titas pain and grow with her as she discovers her freedom, whereas the movie failed to achieve this.
