Respect
Respect is a feeling of understanding, admiration, and value what someone says or what that person believes in. Mutual respect is exchanging this feeling with another individual. This is the most important personal value to me because I feel that it is the basis for all interaction between individuals. The amount of respect you have with someone is very important because respect is unspoken communication. Respect maintains a common unspoken feeling of belonging and self-worth in another person’s thoughts. I believe that everyone should be treated with utmost respect until that respect is damaged by an individual’s actions.
Commitment
Commitment means, “to be loyal to something” or, “to never give up”. More than just being loyal or never

I feel that often times just being confident in yourself and what you do, gives you the motivation to excel and better yourself. Saying things like I can’t do it, or it is impossible may be true at times, but more times than not you are able to adapt, learn, and overcome if you are confident. Be confident and you may surprise yourself.
Dignity
Dignity is being concerned with how people feel, think and behave in relation to the worth or value of themselves and others. I feel that to treat someone with dignity is to treat them as being of worth, in a way that is respectful of their diversity, as valued individuals. Everyone wants that feeling of worth and if they don’t have that dignity or self-worth then will most likely lack in other areas of their life. Also, as a leader, showing someone you believe they have worth, enforces a sense of trust, and respect.
Teamwork
Teamwork means that a group people will use their individual skills while cooperating towards a singular goal, providing constructive feedback, while ignoring personal conflict between individuals. Why teamwork is such an important value to me as a leader is because the issues or tasks we are confronted with are typically complex and require a team to accomplish. I am going to be a transformational leader and develop a vision to motivate followers to strive for this vision. Also, encourage followers and challenge them to

It is important to be a transformational leader. The one thing you can do that will have the greatest impact in a work center is to focus on transformational leadership. There is no limit to the potential an individual can aspire to if you raise them up as leaders and continue to develop them. I want to be the type of leader that challenges individuals to be their best. It is important to earn respect and dignity with your followers in order for them to appreciate what you are trying to do for them. First you have to know yourself and be confident. Constantly seek improvement and reflect on your own performance but be confident in your abilities to do so. You also have to know your job and be familiar with subordinate’s tasks. Another aspect is to make good decisions and have good problem solving skills. If you make decisions that your followers think are incompetent then they will not want to follow them. So make good decisions, be confident in them and stick to your decisions. As a leader, I will set the example and be the good role model for them to follow. Staying committed to being a good role model is very important. If you act a certain way at work then off duty, “with the guys”, you are completely different then they may tell some people at work or think of you differently. So stay committed and be that good example. Another aspect is to know your people. Know how they think and behave.
Respect is a such a simple concept and a virtue that should be simple to follow. It means treating other people and animals in a dignified manner. Respect doesn’t mean that people need to hug everyone they come across or hold their opinion higher than everyone elses. Respect means treating others as equals and acknowledging that as human
Dignity is a timeless desire and will always be chased by the human race. Compared to fame and revenge, dignity is a healthier ambition. Aristotle once said, “Dignity does not consist in possessing honors, but in deserving them” (How to regain your dignity, 2013).
Proper respect for others begins by a person respecting their self. Respect is developed by expressing honor, leadership, value, and trust in a person. If everyone respects everyone someday, the world will become a seventh heaven. It is important to be respectful for safety, to abide by the law, because children are influenced by their elders’ actions, and because God says so. Motivation from peers can help a person realize there is always room to improve the level of respect a person exhibits. Respect was, is, and always will be a positive attribute for everyone to strive for in their lives.
Commitment, it is being loyal or dedicated to something you love doing. I love being in NJROTC, so I am dedicated to it. Being committed to something helps me stay focus to what I need to do in life. I didn't know what commitment really was until I found something I loved doing and I stick to it. In the future for my goals, I will use commitment to stay on task, stay loyal to what I love, and being dedicated to what I need to
Respect to me is admiring someone for their abilities, qualities, or achievements. I think respect is always earned an can never be given. As soldiers soldiers we should always respect our peers because they have made the same sacrifice as us. But as soldiers we should have a higher level of respect for our NCOs because they have done their time an have earned it. Being respectful is not hard it is simple, just treat others the way we would like to be treated ourselves.
Dignity is defined as “the quality or state of being worthy, honored, or esteemed. (Webster, 1828). Treating patients with respect and dignity can make the difference in their response to illness. Patients want to be treated as individuals that have a medical condition and are seeking help and in the same vein be treated with respect.
Dignity is to do with how people feel, think and behave in relation to the worth or value of themselves and others. To treat someone with dignity is to treat them as being of worth, in a way that is respectful of them as valued individuals. (RCN 2008). It is important to respect patients and individuals because every patient is different and will have different needs and wants. So it is important for nurses to pay attention to these needs and wants, as it will help them to respect each patient’s dignity correctly. Nurses must respect and defend the dignity of each stage of the human life and they are also to respect their own dignity. When treating a person with dignity, it is important to treat them with respect and the sort of respect they would like.
In three seperate dictionaries, respect is defined as a regard for or appreciation of the worth or value of someone or something. In my opinion, respect goes far beyond this definition. Respect is the cornerstone of the society in which we live. Although many look at respect as simply treating another person or thing with kindness, this word has many different aspects. For instance, I would not give an elder the same type of respect that I would give my peers or myself. Respect is not considered a neccessity in this world but, I can’t imagine a person getting very far in life without this virtue.
Respect for yourself is very important to a person because it can be the balancing factor of your life. If a person has no respect for themselves the will most likely go into depression. Respecting yourself is also important for your self-esteem. Having a high self-esteem means that people might laugh at you, make fun of you, and yet you don’t get angry or upset because you know you are better than what they say you are. You must be able to hold your head high and be proud of what you do. Respecting yourself also means taking care of your body. It can be the simple things such as brushing your teeth, washing your hands, and exercising. There are many other factors that might fall into the respecting yourself category, but respecting others is important as well.
I do have to admit that sometimes this can be extremely difficult and may leave one feeling a bit vulnerable. Commitment is the ability to take a risk and to accept the possibility of disappointment or pain. Again, I have to agree that commitment can be demanding, but to look on the bright side, it can also be rewarding. To be able to stay in ...
Throughout my life I have encountered the chance to experience position of being a leader. Being part of groups in university for class presentations, being the organizing secretary of my campus fellowship, being a youth leader in my church and the church admin, also being part of a family. Leaders are charismatic, inspirational and trust worthy. I have gained some important qualities of being a good leader through these experiences. Most of the valuable leadership’s characteristics that I obtained and strengthened are: learn to become a better leader every day, how to be a team player, to be a better listener, to be an effective communicator, to have more patience, not afraid of constructive criticism, to be outspoken, and to be a problem solver. Even though I have gained a lot, I still have more things to learn to become a better leader such as being more assertive, being more disciplined, becoming a better public speaker, and learn how to be realistic and not too optimistic. You are a leader if someone else choses to follow you.
Working in teams provides an opportunity for individuals to come together and establish a rapport towards others within a group. Teamwork is classified as people with different strengths and skills who work together to achieve a common goal. When a team works well, specific objectives are fulfilled and satisfied. Teamwork plays a crucial role in implementing and fulfilling a common goal in a team project. Each member plays a role and takes on different responsibilities combined together. In different stages of teamwork, conflicts and arguments may occur for as members have different standpoints which need to be harmonized within the team. The key to having an effective teamwork is to explore each member's unique abilities to motivate them.
Teamwork: Demonstrates the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally. Willing to cooperate and be flexible when working with co-workers and management to complete a job, while always treating them with dignity and respect. Recognizes and respects differing opinions, approached differences with others in a respectful way; Acts with the team’s best interests in mind.
Mutual respect is when we appreciate and value the work of others and appreciate their strength in the workplace. You treat others like the way you would like to be treated at work.
Teamwork is defined as, “the process of working collaboratively with a group of people in order to achieve a goal.” (Business Dictionary, n.d.) Ultimately, it provides us with a sense of accomplishment and a feeling of unity amongst each other. It allows us to create healthy relationships, and bond further with our peers, and generally, it’s a necessity for our lives. Teamwork aids us with developing imperative life lessons and skills. It also helps us gain a new perspective, and discover our strengths and weaknesses. Personally, I believe that I work well in a team, and I possess the skills of a good leader. Regardless, some individuals
