I believe if I were in need of a new life and had to travel with historic voyagers I would most likely chose the Jamestown settlers. The reason is simple, because they had many of sailors and they had one main great legend, Captain John Smith. Not only that their main purpose was money, and I love money. Jamestown settlement happened to a few hundred sailors that we're told there was a good amount of money if they came to America, and when money is involved, who wouldn't sail from their hometowns to unknown countries and not be sure that everything will come out as planned? These settlers went through obstacles and came out victorious, but at what price. Death, one of the most common word you will see in Jamestown, this was due to the harsh environment that the settlers have encounter. Many factors have influence their survival from the area that have chosen to the kind of health they are experiencing.
The early colonial time period spans about 120 years, filled with incredibly significant ideas that drove the United States to its current position, it all stemmed from the first people and their aspirations for a new way of living which drove leaders to create those aspirations into reality.
From 1785 to 1790 New York was the capital of the United States. New York has been in existence for a long time. Even though, the New York colony is viewed as not too beneficial, the colony was actually very helpful because of the Anti-British activity, diversity, and religion.
In 1607 110 male colonists were sent to establish the first English settlement in the new world. Of those first colonists, only 40 survived the first year in Jamestown. So what was the reason so many colonists died? There were three main categories that held key points as to why this colony was a deathtrap. Those three categories were problems environmentally, with the settlers, and with the Native Americans.
After being stuck en route for an enormously long period of time, would you think that the destination had better be worth all the time spent getting there? Many people would say yes. Think about it. If you were on a journey which lasted months, possibly years of your life, you would want to arrive at your destination seeing the same thing you had dreamt of during the trip. What if, when you got there, you discovered that the dream was actually a myth? The American settlers discovered just that. Is this not similar to High School? Everybody has a specific view, or dream, of High School that very first day they walk in as a freshman. How often is this dream a realistic one?
