Being blessed with another day of life, waked up by the sunrise of a beautiful day. Had a couple of peaceful seconds in my mind, but eventually I started to remember all the things I had to do by the end of this infinite day. Just by thinking about it got me exhausted. I got up from my comfortable bed and took a warm shower. While, taking a shower, I was thinking of a million things; how I was going to present my project in engineering class. Or how I was going to finish my other projects for my other 3 classes? What can do to improve on my soccer skills and accomplish varsity this year? How I was going to get accepted into college and how I’m paying for college? Problems that make me feel in a diverse world. However, I checked if I had everything …show more content…
Getting back where everything started, my bed. While laying down in my bed I go through my backpack and check for homework. When I’m done with my homework, I turn everything off and stare at the ceiling. In a dark and peaceful atmosphere, thinking why I can’t quit anything I had done so far. My grades are untouchable, that’s not an option. Soccer, there’s no way I played 3 years for school and quitting my last year. Lobo Prep is my only opportunity to get a higher score. A higher score, that means more universities to get accepted into and more opportunities of getting scholarships. Furthermore, the only reason I don’t want to quit my job to provide more time to my education, is because I want to prove my parents that is possible to do well in both school and work at the same time. This type of life has totally changed my life in every perspective. Now I’m a more mentally strong, mature, responsible, independent person. Sadly now, I don’t have time to spend with my family, however, I still feel the responsibility to become the first from my entire family to graduate from a university. I want to become a role model for my brother and sister, that’s one of my biggest motivations. The way that my parents treat me because of the fact that I’m able to do this routine every day. Makes me feel some type of inexplicable way that makes me keep fighting in this everyday
One incident that happened to me that change how I thought about sports was when I first started playing soccer. It all started when my mom said that I should join a sport to get me more active. It took me awhile to choose soccer at first because there were so many sports to choose from. I told my mom I wanted to play soccer. She signed me up to play for a non competitive league (GYSA) so I can learn the basics of the sport. She also told me to play I would have to maintain good grades. After hearing that i always tried my best in soccer and school.
The impact that soccer has had on the United States has drastically changed the American society and it will continue to mold the culture for years to come. Soccer, in one or more ways, has had some part in the lives every American citizen, whether it be the money spent by the government on stadiums and professional teams, or the time spent watching and playing the game. Although the sport did not have a strong early presence in American lives it has substantially grown in recent years, thus effectively popularizing soccer in every corner of the globe. The sport plays an important role in modern American society and has a bright future ahead of it.
I started playing soccer when I was four years old. At the time I had a lot of problems. To name a few, I was bad at working with others, I was a sore loser, and I did not handle pain or disappointment well. When I started to play soccer I had a low self esteem and was terribly shy. Going up and talking to people was not on my list of things to do. This made it pretty hard for me to fit in with all the other kids and make friends. It was hard to enjoy playing soccer when I felt as though I had no friends on the team. My parents noticed my dislike in the sport, but urged me to keep playing anyway.
After four years of a new team every season, I went into my first practice of my fifth soccer season expecting the same to be true. Play on this team for one year and then be randomly placed on a different one the following year. Little did I know this team, especially the coaches, would leave a lasting impact on my life. I gained an invaluable support system that has stuck by my side for an upwards of nine years.
It was one day this year and I was playing soccer with my friends and there was a professional coach was watching us play. Then after we got done we were all leaving and I was like the last one to leave and the coach went up to me and gave a contract saying they want me to join professional soccer and join a professional team and I said sure so he gave me a contract and told me to sign it and so I did.
Sikeston girl athletes are not normally recognized for being outstanding in sports for our area. Out of all girls sports at Sikeston High School, the title of District Champions has been received only four times in history and none of them have been in girls soccer. Before this past season, girls soccer was hardly even considered a sport. Really, it was much more. Playing high school soccer taught me essential qualities that I'll need for the next chapter of my life.
I’m a woman that likes sports in general, but I’ll have to say that soccer is my favorite, I started playing soccer at the age of twenty four and I’ve been playing ever since, now I’m thirty and I enjoy soccer so much that every time I get invited to a game I’m the first one to be ready. I get to play soccer on Wednesdays, some Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and not to mention I do soccer practice on Mondays, and some Thursdays. I have involve two of my kids in soccer and the cool part of it we get to play at the same at the same place so I get to see them
Since I can remember I’ve always played soccer. Whether it was kicking the ball inside my house, this didn’t go over well with my mom, or playing on a youth team, club team, or school team. I first started with my dad in our yard, playing keep-away with my sister for hours at a time. When I grew old enough I immediately joined my local club team Wayne Wings. Wayne Wings helped me expand my skill level tremendously as well as build an even stronger bond with my dad as he volunteered to be the coach. I was voted to be the captain and became the top player. After my skills flourished in this lower league I looked to find a higher level and joined an elite club team, Webster Dynamo, that was an age group up from mine. My coach helped me improve my
Three year ago, I was starting to playing soccer in the Japanese soccer team. My dad always comes with me to play soccer. Then I always decided to play soccer school and go practice every weekend to that soccer team. So, my favorite part of day is playing soccer with my friend in soccer flied or I was playing myself. My hobby is playing soccer with my brother.
The towering Dutch professional soccer player, Johan Cruyff, once said, “Soccer is simple, but it is difficult to play simple.” I first became interested in sports when I was 11 years old playing soccer in a local youth league in the city. Soccer is a competitive sport where diligent work demands from oneself. For example, soccer is a great sport that anyone can get involved with and have fun playing. To become an advanced player, one needs to start early and work diligently.
I wake up at six in the morning barely having slept the night before because of this big day. All possible scenarios played out in my head; good ones and bad ones like driving to the airport an hour or two earlier so I would find parking and avoid traffic on the highways or something as bad as locking the keys inside of the car right before checking into the airport to board my luggage. I stayed in bed an extra five minutes contemplating these ideas with groggy eyes but soon I would be in the shower, wide awake. After getting dressed, I checked the list I made the previous night to make sure I had not forgotten anything for the trip.
Soccer is an integral part of my life. Every Monday and Wednesday, my friends and I play after school. Besides learning footwork from our coach, we also inculcate the importance of good ‘work ethic’, in every game we play, from him. Today, we are a team to reckon with because we put in game-time intensity in every match.
As a teenager, I do not want to study. I am stubborn and lazy. I hate to wake up so early every morning. It bothers me a lot. I never get enough sleep. Homework, assignments, projects have become piles of mountains. I often thought about suicide myself. I try to kill myself several times, but I could not succeed. I always complain to my parents, “Why I should go to school? It costs you enormous amount of budgets. It is useless. Teachers only teach the same lessons again and again. It is boring. I often see you came home exhausted. I want to help you, mom. Mom and dad, ‘I want to quit studying, can I?’ I want to find a job to help you.” Yeah, I was wrong. Everything would be awful if I quit. However, I am very thankful to my parents who never give up on my education. I know it costs a huge amount of money, but it is worthwhile. My parents keep begging me to keep going. They keep giving me gifts as rewards to keep me motivated. They always fulfill my wishes. I never understand why they do that to me. Until one Saturday morning, when I step up on the stage getting my high school diploma, I realize how important it is for my parents. I never know how valuable education is until I see them crying. I know I was wrong. I never thought that a single certificate holds a lot of meanings. I cry so badly. I could not stop...
My dream is to be a law enforcement officer, but in order to reach my goal I have to pass through a difficult process. This first step and the most difficult for me, it’s obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. The process of obtaining a BA is difficult because as a fulltime worker, it’s difficult to balance assignments and night shifts. The life of a college students is difficult because sometimes I feel a lot of pressure in doing well in both aspects. In one side, work is crucial in obtaining economy so pay for the university and to provide the basic life necessities. Sometimes, being a daughter of Hispanic parents, makes it even harder. My parents believe that work is more important than school. But, what they only see a present
When I grow up I will become a soccer player. I will become this because I really love the sport. I have played for soccer for seven years and I don’t plan to quit. I play as a forward on a select soccer team named the St. Louis Prospects.
