There are eight hours in a school day, so why sit in class for most of it? A lot of kids need to let some of their energy loose. A lot of kids would act better if they had recess. Recess can help with a lot of things like for example, kids who have ADHD need to move around. If they don’t then they get really wild and could interrupt class. In my opinion, middle school should have a set time for recess because it would get them awake, they've been sitting in a classroom for a long time so the need to move, and gets all their extra energy out so kids wouldn’t be as disruptive as they were before. Recess could help a lot of kids get awake. When kids move around it helps them get more awake and more active. If we have recess at the beginning of the day instead of fast focus then everyone would be ready for first period. Not everyone would be trying to fall asleep, but participating in the discussion. Sitting around and not moving could hurt your bones. Also you would get more sleepy because you are sitting there listening to someone teaching you something you don’t care about. Letting students go outside could help them learn more. They would be more respectful and listen to the teacher. Also they would be more still and not get up during a discussion. In conclusion, middle school should have a set time for recess because it would get them awake, they've been sitting in a classroom for a long time so the need to move, and gets all their extra energy out so kids wouldn’t be as disruptive as they were before. There are multiple reasons why middle school needs recess and I’ve written about some reasons I believe is the most important. You don’t need to sit in a classroom for most of the day, but you need to get outside more and run around to let some energy
