85? How are you going to get into university with this grade? Most of us are going insane trying to pull it together each and every night, but that’s okay our grades are more important than our mental health anyways. As students we are expected to attend school, do homework, work, stay in shape, have a social life, help out at home and get 8+ hours of sleep. Our society needs a reality check because quite frankly 24 hours in a day is not enough. Teachers assign questions for say 1 to 5 and one thinks to themselves, “ Oh that’s not too bad” until they flip through the textbook only to find each sections goes from A-Z. Picture this a typical, hard-working student. Each day one receives multiple assignments to complete for homework. The student is involved in several extracurricular activities so they doesn’t have much extra time. After sport practice, they head home, bury their head in books, and begins to study. How can teachers expect us to do well on our tests when we are having mental break downs at home and have tears in each of our textbooks. Where we come to a point in our life realizing we will never make it and we are wasting our parents time. Every year, dozens of innocent teens and young adults are losing their lives to themselves over something that should prepare them for life. The suicide rate among young adults, ages 15 to 24 have tripled since the 1950s. You know, when I was a kid, I had many dreams about traveling and making it big; I still hope to live through them. Imagine all the innocent teenagers that never got to live their dreams because of their damaged mental health. How can anyone accept the thoughtless cruelty with these precious young lives being treated like they are replaceable? What if one of them knows the cure to cancer but didn’t know their
