Hoping to die with dignity, several patients believe that hospitals should offer suicide as a ‘medical treatment’ for an immediate end to pain. However, the government should not allow physician assisted suicide in the world of health care due to its immorality. The 14th Amendment states, “nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws” (U.S. Const. amend. XIV, §1).
