Have you ever thought about the things that new members of sororities and fraternities have to go through just to be apart of Greek Life? Have you seen a high school athlete have to do something just so they could be accepted into their sport? These things that they have to do, for example, tattooing, head-shaving, and physical punishment, are considered hazing. Hazing is a growing thing in society today from just high school student-athletes and up to college students in fraternities and sororities. It severely impacts one's self-esteem when it is already very hard to be accepted by those around you because of social media and the cautious self-image everyone has of each other. Hazing has shown many that they do not want to be involved in activities that have been associated with hazing and say that it is not worth tearing themselves down by doing things that they may not want to do.

They help build character and leadership qualities within the future of our nation. They also lead to higher successes in students. High school sports allow kids to show off skills they hold as well as show that no matter skill level you are instilling the skill to be able to work with others. They both allow you to sometimes accept defeat and still have support from others around you. It also gives you time to show who you are and what kind of friends you want to have in your life and they give you the ability to figure out who you want to be. They build loyalty and devotion to you. There are many benefits to being involved in such groups but sometimes it is not worth it after what you have to go through just to be apart of
