Cooperation and interdependency have been shown to be critical factors that influence community ability not only to solve problems more effectively, but to allow community members to develop and return favors to each other that ultimately enhance the resilience and integrity of the community itself (Komorita & Parks 1995).
Incorporating, procedural justice which is a way of policing that is intended to make the job of a police officer more effective. Procedural justice focuses on how the police interact with the community. This answers the question of if the process has been fair and if a community member feels they were treated as anyone else in the same predicament. This encourages the community member to tell their side of the story, this procedure also allows the officer to be transparent with the community member by communicating the ways they are being neutral and not personally bias. Third, is to be respectful and following people rights and lastly, understanding if the officers have trustworthy motives by them showing that they care for the wellbeing of the person.
