Being the president of a company, some of the values that would be promoted would be honesty, respect, and integrity. One of the values that I feel many associates value in their leaders is honesty. They need to feel as is the decisions that are being made and the guidance that is provided is being done so with for the good of everyone. There are many people who are out to only promote themselves and not the company as a whole. Subordinates also need to feel respected. Respect is something that needs to be both given and received. There are some people in leadership positions who feel they are better that everyone else and they do not have to show respect to others. This is wrong on every level. They have a strong family-oriented business that strives on communication. I am sure there are decisions that are made higher up that are never discussed at a plant level, but for the president of the division to make time to give a presentation every quarter, I think that shows service and openness. If the business is not performing well, there is no beating around the bush about it. Each of these have completely different outlooks on their companies and their employees. The profit-maximizing climate is where the company focuses on market gains and the avoidance of punishment (Bethel, 2017). This is similar to a small child that knows they are doing wrong, but wants to push the parents as far as they can to see if they can get away without being punished.
