Political socialization is the process by which values, attitudes, and beliefs are transmitted to the people in the community (Mintz, Close, & Croci, 2015, p. 97). It is transmitted throughout the generations where the government tries to modify political culture by promoting the legitimacy of the government (Mintz, Close & Croci, 2015, p. 97). The political culture is different for each country because there are diverse values, and beliefs for political community. If the government continues to focus on the policies that citizens would like to change, it builds trust, and efficacy between the government, and citizens (Mintz, Close, & Croci, 2015, p. 89). However, if parents in America, have confidence in the government, they are more likely to vote, and their children will also be more likely to participate in elections too. He is also well known for the television show “The Celebrity Apprentice.” Trump has a charismatic personality that allows him to connect with the public. He has confidence every time he goes to rallies. However, his campaign is not beneficial to Americans. The policies he has offered, such as not allowing Muslims to enter the United States or building a wall between Mexico is outrageous (“What are Donald,” 2016). Trump is not stopping discrimination, but bringing back the issues that America had in the past. The problem with Trump is that he is unable to answer important questions that have been raised. Instead he is able to joke his way out of answering the questions. The media is also focusing more on his character rather than the policies he is delivering (“Presidential Elections,” 2015).
