Late Nights of Gaming Pays Off Millions of children and young adults stay up to the eve of dawn not studding or working, but playing video games. There is a common idea that video games make kids lazy and brain-dead, but games actually tend to benefit young adults in different ways. Many studies have shown that games can improve ones learning abilities, decision make abilities, brain activity and function, reactions, and many more benefits. So why do people hate and despise video games? People see video games like they see TV, you just sit there and you do nothing and nothing happens. But it is different in games, you actually have to think. You have to get through the puzzle or make a hard decision, while in TV everything is given to you. Games have shown up in classrooms, government agencies, and now can actually make the player be active with physical activity (Garret). While video games are getting better, people’s opinions are just getting more negative. Games have become a major part of today’s youth. They have come out with games that forces you to involve movement and exercise in your playing experience. They did this because they wanted to join the fight to help make kids healthier. This helps show that games do care because the biggest believed negative about games is that they make kids lazy. Games that involve movement have caught the eye of many organizations like the American Heart Association. They think, and even recommend, video games as a fun and entertaining way to enjoy physical activity (Steinberg). Game companies are trying, but most people don’t care. They will always see games as a burden that ruins society. But to the ones who do see that game companies are trying, hopefully you will rethink playing games or having your kids play
