On the opening week of Pitch Perfect 2, the film produced more money than every other movie released around the same time (Contrera). With that being said, Pitch Perfect 2 had word out of being an incredible movie. Pitch Perfect and the sequel are musical comedies that follow the a cappella group, the Barden Bellas. The first movie, released in 2012, centers on the group undertaking the challenge of competing against other talented and experienced teams across the nation. Most movies that are a sequel tend to not be as good as the original film, but Pitch Perfect 2 happens to be even better than the leading Pitch Perfect for several reasons. The second movie offers more a cappella singing to look forward to, an impressive amount of well-known celebrities starring who never allow for a dull moment, and main characters who prove to be just as entertaining to watch as in the first movie. With 35 phenomenal songs heard in Pitch Perfect 2, “Flashlight” originally sang by Jessie J, was a jaw-opener when performed by the Barden Bellas. One of the most loved actresses in the movie, Fat Amy, doubled her humour in Pitch Perfect 2 and a big reason was her romance with Bumper. With both of these individuals already being funny, them together made a couple that can make anyone giggle. In the second movie, “Fat Amy is a serial scene-stealer” (Pehanick). With Fat Amy being so loved in the first movie, having her as an even bigger part in the sequel made for a great turn out. Also, having Chloe still be in the show was amazing. Chloe is in her seventh year of college because she does not want to leave the Bella Bardens. She brought humor to the group knowing she was purposely failing college to stay in an a cappella
