Every night, I can hear the sounds growing softer and softer, listening to the keys projecting from my earbuds injecting straight into my ears. Without music, I would not be the person who I am today. Therefore, from the vibrating strings of the piano, my whole character encapsulates into a small region within life: music.

It all began at age six for me once I started playing the piano. From the first notes I struck I could feel my body move and feel safe when I heard the various pitches resonating into my ear. It was at this moment I knew life without music would not happen. From this point forward, along with the music, I started to grow. From the low keys to the high keys, I started to develop a sense of touch and feelings for others around me. I learned that the low keys complemented the high key, which created a compassionate sound between the two. Accordingly, there is one piece in particular on the piano which I could not live without, composed by Camille Saints Saëns, “The Swan.” The first time I heard this piece, I felt numb by the way the piano made my body move, and the pedals prolonging the notes would move the water down the Niagara Falls with swift force. During this song, I could escaped from the environment around me and become free from everything. This song opened up my eyes and made me an open-minded person. This song allowed me to accept, respect, and stay humble because every music type is different with each one creating new feelings. I started to branch out and start involving myself in different areas in life. From sports to cooking, I attempted new recreational activities, which I knew could help complement my addiction to the piano, as the keys complement each other with a reminder with each strike on the keys, life will end one day so live it to the fullest and explore different areas.
