Interculturalism and Intercultural Communication in Philosophy
Personal Memo
The reason for writing this essay was to explore within the fields of philosophy to explore the relationship with the ideas and concepts that are studied within intercultural communication. The audience in which I feel that this is directed towards would be that of people studying philosophy and perhaps professors to get more familiar with concepts. My research consisted of using Grand Valley's library system to look up books for references regarding the topics I needed, and realizing how much there was regarding the subject. I think that my shortcoming may have been discussing of in the field as to coming to a conclusion on the question of diversity.

Overview
The profession and academic discipline as well since they go hand in hand is that of Political Science, specifically Political Philosophy within the discipline of Political Science. Bringing up the concept and dilemma that human rights have been, that human rights are vital to intercultural dialogue, while the perception of human rights as western. Universal human rights being seen as imposing western ideas on cultures where they are alien (Hansson). However, the central aspect of universal human rights is specific rights that are inalienable based on virtue of being a human. This concept of UHR being something that is a newer idea within history, neither being found in western and non-western ancient sources
