ABT put a 25% sales tax on any GMO products Introduction: If you could imagine the actual food you are consuming every day, you would be scared. The amount of genetically modified and unhealthy let alone dangerous food we eat is absurd. GMO's are very unhealthy, even though they are in most of our diets. Non organic and GMO products are nearly impossible to avoid, which is why an extremely high sales tax will create an economic disincentive and therefore cut most genetically modified products out of our everyday meals. Affirm today's legislation because this bill will impact you and your families in a very positive way. Point 1: Genetically modified foods are extremely unhealthy and not natural products to consume. The American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) urges doctors to prescribe non-GMO diets for all patients. Their studies shows animals with organ damage, gastrointestinal and immune system disorders, accelerated aging, and infertility. The American Public Health Association and American Nurses Association are among many medical groups that condemn the use of genetically modified bovine growth hormone, because the milk from treated cows has more of the hormone IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factor 1)―which is linked to cancer. …show more content…
