Think of a world where every decision was made entirely by yourself. Think of a world without a government looking out for us and steering us in the direction that is best for us. A World like that would be utter chaos, but we might be closer to it than you may like to believe. Americans like to blame the government for their problems, but in reality they won’t even allow the government to step in and fix simple problems such as obesity in America. Americans would rather refuse help from the government, on the grounds that it takes away from their free will, when it would only take the government 3 steps; regulating the meals of the children in America, Keeping Kids Active, and providing Alternatives to the Fast Foods Restaurants to the General …show more content…

Kids would have no other choice but to eat the food that is set before them. However, there are various ways for a kid to get the credit for Physical Education in today’s schools; ROTC, Dance, even Marching Band. Many would argue that those are not the equivalent to playing a sport such as Football, Soccer, Basketball, or Powerlifting and they would be right. Now, drive back up the block and try to find someplace to buy a grapefruit.”(392) He is very true in this statement. Most people flock towards the fast food restaurants simply because it is so convenient for them. They can go through a drive-thru on their way to work, a meeting, home, or on break. However, they can’t simply go outside and buy an orange from a street vendor that doesn’t exist. This is more of a long term goal because of two reasons. It is unrealistic for the government to go out and simply build whole food stores. And you have to let the current Generation of Children get to the age where they become more independent. They have to be able to make the decisions for themselves. If not you are put back in the situation where you eat what is set before you. You have to be able to go out and purposely pass up a Whataburger on your way to a Walmart for a few oranges instead. This is encouraged by what is being taught in the schools as well. If the kids are forced into healthier eating habits as a child then it becomes a habit. Once this habit is developed it becomes normal and it will then
