Under a strict Gun Control law, when a holdup happens, the attacker is less likely to have a gun, and even if the attacker did somehow obtain a firearm, the victim would not have one to use carelessly and get himself killed. Crimes with Gun Control will be much less violent for the people that obey the law, and most criminals will be deterred from even attempting a crime if they cannot buy a gun. Similarly, Gun Control will help prevent terrorism of this country. Terrorism, now a big issue for the United States, can be prevented in many cases if Gun Control laws are put into affect. Many terrorists use easily concealed guns that come from the United States, getting the guns from either exportation or in the country.
but if it is and a law is passed allowing it criminals will not know who will be carrying a firearm. David Kopel stated, “Data showing that laws allowing law-abiding citizens to carry a gun legally in public may cause reductions in crime because potential criminals do not know who might be carrying a firearm” (Kopel,”The Gun Fight”). If the United States passed a nation-wide law that all law-abiding citizens, with extensive background checks could carry their registered firearm in public and it may cause a reductions in crimes such as armed robberies and kidnapping but the most dangerous mass shooting, but what happens when pro-gun control advocates claim that guns kill people? It is the person the physical act of killing someone that is valid not the object itself. it is the persons thought of firing the gun all citizens have the natural born rights to the right to bear arms.
Some are against reform that, “private citizens who own guns are constantly told by gun-control advocates that only fully trained government agents should be allowed to possess and use guns” (Krey 41). The pro gun reform advocates see this because of the number of shootings that have happened in the past years. They also attribute our violent culture to one of the reasons the shooting rates have gun up. The pro gun reform advocates have used different outlets throughout the media to get their message out and try to start a movement, in which they are trying to get the public to have the same view point as them. This goes for the pro gun reform and anti gun reform groups.
However, expensive guns will do little to aid in the safety of Americans. Rather, criminals will be able to easily obtain weapons illegally, and the innocent civilians will be... ... middle of paper ... ... businesses as well. If guns were enforced or banned it would be the same thing, and profits would go through the roof for gangs and other criminals. Instead of trying to enforce gun control laws, the government should team with police and educate people on how to use gun properly and always call police for help. Never try to handle a situation yourself if you know someone will get hurt.
To have gun control throughout the nation means violating a person’s constitutional rights. Although people feel like taking away guns will limit crime, this issue should not exist due to the fact that guns are needed and necessary for self -defense against crime. Enforcing gun control is violating a citizen’s second amendment right to bear arms. This goes to show that throughout history governments have seemed to have sided with their citizens, although in reality the governments have seemed to have sided with their authority to remove liberties. The people’s right to bear arms is our only defense against the onslaught of oppressive government tyranny.
There are gun control laws to try and reduce the number of violent shootings that occur. They are trying to put limits on weapons that Americans can own. The government is trying to take our guns away mainly because of people that are criminally insane. Most of the people who commit crimes don’t even have the weapons legally. If the government takes away the rights of people who are allowed to have firearms in their possession, it will most definitely cause an outrage.
They should do background checks for any mental illnesses, past criminal activity including petty crime, and whether or not they contribute to the community. Government should not be able to dictate that a normal law abiding citizen who owns a gun for personal protection of home and property is responsible for all of the crime. What the law makers do not understand is that criminals are going to get guns no matter what. It does not matter how strict the laws are. They could ban gun sales all together and it would not stop criminals from obtaining guns.
When presenting the proposal to society; consideration is needed on what would happen in the likelihood that there is a large disapproval rate. The ethical ramifications could be a negative factor in not being able to get the proposal passed by knowing how society reacts to gun control. There are constant arguments when the suggestion of banning guns is presented. Most of the argues involves rights and discrimination issues. Since most criminals will get a gun if they want it; some individuals in society feel that by owning a gun; they can protect themselves better from the criminal and that crimes involving guns with stop.
Most of the time, the shootings occur at schools, stores and at public places where lots of innocent people get injured or dies. When a shooting happens, the news reporter, social media or at the front page of a newspaper talks about the problems with guns. There are two sides in this gun debate, one is making more laws and the other is more guns. Individuals must consider which side of the debate offers the greatest gain for the least cost. Looking back to laws, making more laws will not work because individuals will break the rules.
This would be unfair to them because the criminals will always have their own ways to hide and use the guns even when the new laws are being put into practice. With this in mind, the rate of crime and violence is likely to shoot up since it is in the knowledge of the criminals that people are not holding guns, and they can, therefore, use their guns more freely than they would have used them when people are holding guns.It has also been concluded that gun laws do not work in any
