There are roughly 7.4 billion people living on this planet, on different continents, within different cultures, and individuals with different personalities. A person’s personality is the unique combination of their characteristics that set them apart from others in their way of behaving, thinking, and even feeling. When trying to assess people’s various personality traits, researchers like to use the Big Five personality inventory which describes the basic trait dimensions pretty well, even cross-cultural. Included in the Big Five are conscientiousness, agreeableness, neuroticism, openness, and extraversion. If people identify as an extravert, then they enjoy the company of other people, are enthusiastic, easily excitable, full of energy, and quite frequently experience positive emotions. I scored in the 48th percentile which is about average and means that I enjoy to spent time with others as well as by myself. The second dimension reflects a person’s agreeableness or how well they get along with others. People scoring high in this section are concerned with other people’s needs and usually seen as pleasant to be around. My score was in the 53rd percentile and again that is average relative to others. The interpretation would be that I have some interest with needs of others, but more likely I would value my own needs. In the third dimension of the Big Five is a person’s conscientiousness evaluated which is concerned with people’s awareness and directing of their impulses. In other words, to be able to see possible consequences resulting from their behavior. I scored in the 77th percentile, which is very high and indicates that I have the ability to set well defined goals as well as the persistence to reach them. For instance, I enjoy spending time with my friends hosting dinner parties, getting drinks, or just going on hikes. However, at the same time I also like to spent time by myself like trying out new cooking recipes or simply enjoying a good movie at home. Another aspect to consider where my behavior could alter is in which social-roll I am in at that particular moment such as professional, student, or private. However, usually I like to be the observer first and then after a while I am much more outgoing. The next facet of the test was agreeableness and I scored average again. For example, I have two wonderful roommates and both of them like to park in our driveway. I enjoy it as well but it is much more important to them than to me and I have no problem parking on the street. I am usually concerned by the needs of other and try to find solutions to problems where all sites can agree on. On the other hand, I can get competitive especially in soccer. I have played soccer on a very competitive level all my life and to achieve certain goals I needed to look out for myself. Now, if I am honest I realize that I have a hard time to enjoy playing soccer with others who are not on a similar level as me. When playing for fun, I secretly hope to play together with better players. I guess that would mean I look out for my
