Mrs. Pauli, why are you so convinced I am narcissistic? Why is it that every time I do ANYTHING you believe it's for some glory or for myself? Why is it the other day in AP Physics when I said "If I had a purse full of money I would never misplace it (like the woman you said misplaced hers) I'd have it by my side forever!" your immediate reply was "that's why people question your trust"? Why is it when Hayley said "you win" in terms of making it onto the ballot for a design over 100 students supported you seemed offended by her congratulations? Why is it when I presented you my independent study form today, you seemed almost offended my INDEPENDENT study proposal would benefit solely my future? The student section shirt idea my peers and I have worked to allow isn't for me or them. What you said was right, the student section is for building a community. What I have trouble in accepting is how this idea doesn't create a community. Where the confusion is coming from is your misinterpretation of the shirt's purpose. A student section shirts' design ISN'T to represent a group, that's the purpose a CLASS or CLUB shirt's design serves. Wearing a student section SHIRT (the whole shirt right down to the cotton) symbolically represents a group because of the unity it creates. When students dress up for themes like Christmas where they all wear Christmas hats, are they trying to represent their faith and love for Christmas and their allegiance to the Christian community? Of course not. The hats are SYMBOLIZING the love and unison the students have for the student section by being apart of this terrific COMMUNITY of students. The shirt design we've resurrected is one the class of 2016 has been chasing for years and one that is wildly popular. The study body loves the design, and it's backed by our athletic director, who said he wants 100 pairs himself, and our 11th grade principal.
