I grew up idolizing my father who was one of the very select few in his graduation batch to be recruited by IBM. This might sound easy but he had to acrobat through rounds of aptitude and IQ tests before being accepted as junior programmer. While growing up, it was his profession that gave me the opportunity to sit beside him and watch him write codes in languages that looked a lot like English but yet came across as French. Codes written by humans that made the computers perform tasks at lightning speeds was mesmerizing for a young boy. My interest in technology, particularly personal computers, increased as I grew and by the age of eleven, I started to develop small programs of my own in Basic, Fortran and Pascal. I made up my mind from the early age that field of technology is where I wanted to be when I grew up. During my undergraduate days, I was fascinated by the technology companies and their leaders who had revolutionized the field of computers. Most of these leaders studied electronics, engineering or computers. After graduation, I extensively leveraged my network and secured a Customer Support Engineer position at IBM. The very same company that I dreamt of working for like my father, who I idolized. My dream of studying computer science and working for IBM became a reality.
