I grew up idolizing my father who was one of the very select few in his graduation batch to be recruited by IBM. This might sound easy but he had to acrobat through rounds of aptitude and IQ tests before being accepted as junior programmer. While growing up, it was his profession that gave me the opportunity to sit beside him and watch him write codes in languages that looked a lot like English but yet came across as French. Codes written by humans that made the computers perform tasks at lightning speeds was mesmerizing for a young boy. My interest in technology, particularly personal computers, increased as I grew and by the age of eleven, I started to develop small programs of my own in Basic, Fortran and Pascal. I made up my mind from the early age that field of technology is where I wanted to be when I grew up. After I graduated from the high school, I enrolled myself at King Abdul University’s Computer Science undergraduate program. …show more content…
During my undergraduate days, I was fascinated by the technology companies and their leaders who had revolutionized the field of computers. Most of these leaders studied electronics, engineering or computers. After graduation, I extensively leveraged my network and secured a Customer Support Engineer position at IBM. The very same company that I dreamt of working for like my father, who I idolized. My dream of studying computer science and working for IBM became a reality. Although, my father had moved on and was working for the federal government by
The first piece of technology that was introduced to me was the amazing, ground-breaking GameBoy created by Nintendo. My parents believed that my obsession with video games in my juvenile years would be the cause of my downfall when I would become an adult with no job, no money, and still lived with my parents. I admit that I did have an addiction in the beginning, but over the years it moderated as I became more attracted to what was actually done to develop the devices and programs that once ensnared me. Enrolling into a vocational high school, I selected Programming & Web Development as my choice of trade in order for me to learn more about this extraordinary field of science. Soon I began compiling my own applications, but with a method unorthodox compared to my classmates; I believed that the vivid aesthetics and simple navigation displayed on applications were just as crucial as the tediously compiled, intricate code virtually hidden underneath. With every annual keynote that was broadcasted from numerous Silicon Valley companies, their latest innovations constantly entertained my curiosity. Advancing as an upperclassmen, I entered into challenging courses and incessantly researched innumerable universities as I began to devise a plan of recruitment for the companies of the Bay Area. Enrolling into a university that is passionate about the
My interest in computers started around early high school when I got my laptop and started looking more and more into vividly at them. When I first got my laptop was playing videogames and watching streamers. Then I one day sitting in my bed and I thought to myself I would like to know more so I can fix anything if
When I was in middle school, I had totally no idea of what Computer Science is, but I was pretty proficient in using computers at that age. The only thing that I knew about Computer Science is that one of my aunts is in that field and that’s all, nor of my parents are in that major. Not until in High School that I got the sense of what programming is like. I was taught basic simple codings and I really enjoyed it and thought that the class was actually quite fun. But the class didn’t give me any sense of the important real-world applications of Computer Science. Not until recently as I am in the Computer Science major, I started to really have the real idea and to gain real passion for the field. Computer Science is not all about programming.
A fascination for Science & Technology and keen interest in the ever-growing world of technology motivated me to take up engineering. The power of research and delivering it for the growth of Society is what makes me interested in the technology side of science. I choose to major Computer science Engineering with an intense urge to delve into this challenging field. During my under graduation program I learned the various fundamentals of Computer science Engineering which together with practical course works reinforced my interest.
I was dumbfounded to know that games are nothing but programs. Curious to know how to program I developed a serious interest in Computers. This keen interest in mathematics along with a strong liking for computers, and particularly programming, prompted me to choose engineering with Computer Science as my major. This decision gave me ample opportunity to consolidate my creative energies and harness my technical
The mind must never be kept idle because of its tremendous capacity to absorb and learn. After careful consideration of my aptitude, interests and experiences gained while pursuing my under graduation in the field of Computer Science and Engineering, I have decided to pursue my Masters in the field of Computer Science. Being a dynamic and ever evolving field, many new developments are expected and there is immense scope for research on new products and applications. To progress and make a mark in this field, I realize that it is important for me to pursue my Masters from a reputable university. I have always dreamt of taking up research.
I have always been interested in the working of computers since they were mainstreamed into our school system in the early 1990’s. At first, it was the programs and learning to do so many things with the computers. We were able to create active puzzles and mazes in our physics class. It always amazed me this little box could do so many things. I always found it exciting trying new programs on this machine and learning while I was at it.
My personal career goal is to do Information Technology (IT) and how I’m going to achieve that goal is by going to a community college to start off with and then go to a four year college. When I get my Bachler’s degree I will go further into my career into helping my job fix computers when they are broken down. The process of deciding to pursue a career as an IT was is an easy one, but that process has helped me define my career goal, be realistic about what I want, and plan thoughtfully about how to reach my goals.
My fascination with computers began from early high school when we had introductory computer classes. Further, programming and graphics lessons caught my imagination and soon computers became almost an obsession. This resulted in my choosing Computer Science for undergraduate studies. Artificial Intelligence is the area where I have chosen to set my foot in.
My passion towards digital technologies began early. It started as a fascination for computer games, evolved to a curiosity for networking and finally to an appreciation for computer security. And so when it came to deciding the stream for my graduation, the choice of doing it in Computer Science Engineering was obvious for me.
My career choices have changed through the years from mother and housewife through architect, accountant, or teacher, finally I have arrived at a computer career. The following is an idea of the path I have followed.
Perfection is not within the realms of possibility, but I always knew if I aim for perfection, I could at least achieve excellence. This is the mantra I have followed in every walk of life. I have always learnt to appreciate everything I have taken up, thoroughly and to the fullest. In this competitive pace of life, I have learnt a lot from my experiences and I am still striving to learn more. I constantly challenged myself in an effort to develop a rational mindset and approach to problem solving.
My passion for computers started in high school, when my father bought a home pc. Then I got the opportunity to explore my practical knowledge with a young and an enthusiastic teacher. At first I started learning about the hardware...
When I go back in time, the images that make the fondest memories of my childhood are primarily the ones related to computers. While I was growing up, I spent a good amount of time learning new things about computers through whatever source I could. What started as a leisure pursuit soon turned into passion, and when the time came to choose my subject for pre-university, computer was my first choice. I studied technology and hardware workshop, computer networks, information bank, operating system, physics, mathematics along with programming languages, software packages like word, excel, access, power point, Snagit etc.
After deciding on my goal, I started to research what my next steps should be. The first step was to choose a degree pertaining to web design and to find a college that offered this degree. I decided to obtain a Computer Science (CS) degree, as it covered a broad area of computer study. I researched colleges within the state of Montana, in order to avoid the costs of out-of-state tuition, and found two colleges that looked promising: Montana Tech in Butte, and Montana State University (MSU) in Bozeman.
