When I grow up... When I grow up I want to be a counselor. I want to be a middle school counselor because I love to hang out and talk with middle schoolers! I feel like this is an appropriate career for me because in 99% of the things I do everyday I interact with people and enjoy talking, A LOT! I am really good with talking to people about their problems and solving them to. These reasons make me feel like this is a right career choice for me. My short term goals are as necessary. My first one is to talk to people that I might know who the job I want to do when I am older. My second one is to practice with the knowledge I know of the job. My third one develop and foster my intuition with others. Those are my short term goals that I hope
When we were little, we thought the word “Career” was not a big deal, but as a senior in high school, the word has become our reality as we start to finish our last semester. The question we’ve been asked all these years is, what do you want to be when you grow up? But our answer is simple: we don’t want to grow up. As an innocent kid it seemed like the time would never come, but it has. It’s time to get serious and really ponder this question.
What do you want to do when you grow up? Most children are often asked that question and they
My short and long-term goals are mainly focused towards bettering myself and enhancing my education to be able to better care for people. I believe there is always room for improvement in everything that we do and one should always keep that in
The end of my first graduate school semester leaves me with a bittersweet feeling. Although I'm glad that the stress and pressure of continuously feeling unprepared to take on graduate school is now over, the feeling that I can successfully accomplish my goal and become a School Counselor seems more attainable. Working towards something I feel passionate about, and coming to the end of the beginning of a long journey has never felt so satisfying. What feels even better is all of the knowledge that I have acquired about the profession which society needs in order to function in times of despair. During our very first class we were asked about, “Our life’s motto?” From this day onward and after listening to the different perspectives, backgrounds,
The types of goals set can differ from short and long-term goals. Short-term goals are something that can be achieved in less than a year and long-term goals are anywhere from two to five years or something that will make a career last a long time (Merriam-Webster, 2014). Having goals set and using the virtue ethics theory can help with the decision-making process and boost ones character. Short-Term Goals for Virtue Ethics A short-term goal is something that progresses in a short-time frame and can lead to a successful long-term goal (Merriam-Webster, 2014).
I do not believe anyone's transition into adulthood is enjoyable or smooth, losing your ignorance and being made aware of real world problems isn't exactly what you wish for. The event that marked my transition into adulthood is certainly nothing I would wish on anyone, but if I had not experienced this, I wouldn't have become someone who learned to take responsibility, and find reasonable solutions to seemingly impossible tasks.
The career path I’m most interested in is counseling psychology, specifically mental health counseling. My interest in counseling began my freshmen year of high school when I had to do a project on what I wanted my future career to be. At the time, I had no idea what I wanted to do and a family friend suggested I look into music therapy. That sparked my interest in going into the psychology field and once I thought about how much of an impact I could make in people’s lives by doing counseling, I’ve never wanted to do anything else.
My short-term goals will be completed throughout High School. I am taking a lot of Mathematical classes in High School, this year I am taking Statistics and Business Math. Next year I will either take Calculus or Precalculus. I like taking math courses because there is a lot of math in anyone's life time. Also my career choices require a lot of math, most classes they like to see I have already taken. I plan to get high grades in all of my classes so Colleges will take me seriously. One of my favorite classes is Statistics and I have a decent grade in it too. My activities at school include being in the Woodshop Club. It is very enjoyable for me and I hope to do more in woodworking as I grow older as a hobby. Activities outside of school include mainly Boy Scouts and work. I plan to get my Eagle Scout rank and I might go on to get Eagle Palms. I work as a Concrete laborer and I also do some finishing, it is a very
My short term goals academically is to pass all my classes this first semester, and my short term goal professionally is to just continue with my current job of working at target. I work at target 5 days a week and about 35 hours a week. My long term goals academically are to major in criminal justice, and my long term goal professionally is to become a DEA agent.
Growing up I had always been asked the infamous question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?", and my answer had always been a shrug or a simple "I don 't know yet". If I was asked the same question now, I could confidently and very passionately say, "I want to be a doctor; a humanitarian who brings positive change in someone 's life.". It seems like a very general statement but I truly hope to one day become somebody who can use her expertise and profession to help others.
As we begin to grow up and come to the end of our high school career we must start to begin to start thinking about what type of career we want to be in. It is very important that a person picks the right type of career for them. Otherwise you will be unhappy with what you are doing and will not enjoy it at all. I am not entirely sure what I want my career to be but I have a pretty good idea as to what type of job it will be. I would like to go into the field of a physical therapist and sports medicine, I fell I will enjoy this more than any other type of career just because I already have a lot of interest in it.
My interest in the social work profession has been cultivated by various experiences that I have had in my life, that have helped to shape who I am. My experience is the very personal story of growing up in a “middle class” family and watching my parents struggle with limited resources. My brother was born with cerebral palsy. He has stopped breathing and had multiple seizures on several different occasions. His condition required numerous hospitalizations and surgeries. I was born 6 years later a preemie, 3 months early. It was likely that I would not survive but against odds I did. Having 4 children and limited income was difficult enough but when I was two years old; a boy that no one knew
The first day of school is always going to be nerve-wracking. You're meeting new people who you'll spend eight hours a day with, five days a week, for thirty six weeks. As a brand new counselor, I couldn't help but flash back to those feelings on the drive from the bus stop, up the road to camp. I admit, I was scared. I had flown across the country to work with a ton of people from all different backgrounds, and I barely knew anything about any of them.
The question adults ask us children when we are growing up is, “What do you want to be when you grow up”? I would always say a professional athlete or an astronaut. But to truly know what I want to do with my future I need to know my roles as a person that will shape my future. Hi my names Keegan Kullberg and I am a brother, a baseball player, bilingual, and a Minnesotan, but some of these roles I find challenging while others I can complete with ease.
Goal setting is one of the most important tasks that anyone will complete because it helps measure your progress for your life. There three types of goals, short, intermediate and long term. Short term want to be obtained anywhere from 1 day to 3 months, intermediate goals reach from 3 to 6 months and long term goals are set for 6 months and beyond long term is anything that wants to be accomplished.
