I am Kyndall Crawford. I am surviving one of the world's most deadliest diseases. This disease was known as the Black Death or the Bubonic Plague. This was an epidemic disease that really hit Europe hard. It killed 30-60% of Europe's population, meaning an estimated 345 million. This was a large outbreak. This outbreak started in 1348 and lasted for about five years. So, how am I surviving the black death? If you didn’t want this horrifying disease, I had to stay away from rodents, such as mice or rats, along with their droppings. I had to seriously avoid insect bites, and the people who had this. Everyone was thrown under consecrated ground and burned. This was known to be “a punishment from God”. If you were very lucky you would have a nice coffin with tons of decorations, along with a well done painting on top of your coffin. This was known to be the “Danse Macabre”. This was a painting honoring your loss. This expresses lots of the merriest moments in your lifetime. These paintings are displayed in public places and they are specially requested by churches, monarchs, and city councils. These paintings were known to be a very cruel form of art. What were the symptoms of the plague? Was this common to get? Signs of this horrifying disease was fever, severe swelling of lymph-nodes, excessive sneezing, headaches, weaknesses, aches, rapid pulse and fatigue. These were all signs that this disease was coming along. In these times most doctors didnt know hardly anything about it or how to cure it. there was a cure for the symptoms but not the disease itself. This is treated by putting on a warm substance of butter, onion and garlic. Many other remedies also treated these symptoms. Eventually tobacco becomes a well known cure for the
